Amadeus - Not what I was expecting at all. I had heard good things about the movie, but had avoided it until now expecting a dry biopic. It definitely was not that. It was intriguing and funny and seemed very contemporary, despite being set in the 18th century.
Tokyo Drifter - Recommended to me by a friend. I really enjoyed it. From the music to the use of color to the cool as ice protagonist, everything about this film just bleeds style. The plot doesn't stray too far from standard gangster movie conventions, but the way it looks and sounds really sets it apart. This is the kind of movie that I imagine Tarantino takes his inspiration from.

Oo...it's not the first time i see an american who saw an old french movie...i'm always suprised, nobody watch it anymore in France, whe rather american blogbusters and TV shows !
You realy like it???
I liked it too, although her french sounded kind of strange to me haha,
Dorian Gray is a young man who moves to London and in a mysterious way keeps his youth eternally, but a special painting gradually reveals his inner ugliness to all. Dorian, quickly after his arrival, becomes close friends with the cynical Lord Henry Wotton, who teaches him a very different way to approach life.
The movie plays a lot on getting to know the characters and we get to do that in some sense, but not enough. I never start to care about any of the characters even though some of them are well acted (particularly Colin Firth as Lord Henry Wotton, also seen in The King's Speech which is a great movie that all should see).
I would have liked to see more explicit sex and violence scenes, it is a very big part of the movie's story but the scenes are very lacking in detail. There's also a few big gaps in the story where we never get to know what happens to the main characters in these gaps. These are reasons to why this movie feel very lackluster and rushed. This movie could have been so much more, even a great movie, but falls short due to reasons like these. It's still a decent movie that I'd say might be worth watching.

Amadeus is my favorite movie of all time. Glad you enjoyed it
As you'd expect there's awesome effects and crazy action, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, is, well, spectacular, but the usual Michael Bay caveats apply: incomprehensible plot, out of place comic relief, and bad movie composition (fighting for an hour only to not even get to the big boss battle? that's just bad macro )
I enjoyed it, but it wasn't by any stretch of the imagination a good film.
It's NSFW, there's plenty of graphic violence and gore but man this movie is just... wow. I was pleasantly surprised, honestly I came for the shotgun, but I stayed for the message it sends. This movie is certainly deeper than it looks, if you can get past the gratuitous violence.
Also I recently saw Super 8; frankly I liked it, very high production value. Although I must say that I was a bit disappointed by the ending. Anyway JJ Abrams is definitely a very good director, you can clearly tell from the camera angles.
Captain America: The First Avenger - Found this to be pretty good. I was confused by most of it though since I never read the comics for it. Was way better then the last marvel movie I watched (Thor), so I left satisfied. Dunno if the extra scene after the credits has me pumped for The Avengers enough, hopefully they manage to fit alot in it.

You may have missed my review one page back:
Do not watch. I went in expecting another Ip Man, instead I get a two hour long Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon romance film about some guy who has given up his past life of crime for his weak and useless wife who needs to be rescued (as you can see from the movie poster, she is not even hot). Again Takeshi Kaneshiro plays a role where his only purpose is to show-off what a supposedly good actor he is but his character, an investigator into Donnie Yen's past, is ultimately redundant and a waste of screen time unless you're a teenage girl who thinks he's the Asian version of Justin Timberlake. We all know the only reason anyone goes to see martial arts movies is for the fight scenes, but in this film, besides the badly choreographed fight at the start as shown in the trailer, there are only two - one where the main character fights this annoying screaming woman, who I think was his mother wanting him to go back to a life of murder, and another where he fights his father (for the same reasons) with a sword after chopping off his own arm to show that he no longer wishes to be his son (this is not a spoiler, it makes no difference at all to anything that happens and was not climatic). + Show Spoiler +
Because the dad was too invincible to beat the producers decided the only way to kill him off and end the movie was to have him be randomly struck by a lightning bolt. Fucking ridiculous.
Oh wow I just watched Captain America: The First Avenger...
As a Marvel comics fan I gotta say that I was utterly and disgustingly disappointed. Captain America is in my top 3 best super heroes ever so I may have had high expectations, however I know how to objectively judge a movie. Well the truth is, if you are new to Captain America, then this a fine and entertaining movie. It is an "okay" and "fun" introduction of the character.
But other than that, it's kind of a fucking disaster. I don't even know where to begin.
-The lead actor: why chris evans? No offense but this guy is not credible. -The secondary characters: Bucky, Cap's famous sidekick, as well as Dum Dum, these guys are legends in the marvel universe. Yet their appearances in teh movie are insignificant and miserable. Also what about the Invaders? -The action scenes: There are too few of them, they are too short, and like every other Marvel movie, they do not showcase the true skills of the super hero. -The plot: typical marvel movie: totally innacurate but who cares eh?
I mean, I'm fine with making a series of movies in order to make these franchises mainstream, and to introduce the Avengers, but why do it that way? Why do such a half-assed job? So much wasted potential... Anyway sorry I'm done ranting.
