![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/5T13D.jpg) I recommend this little horror flick because its actually has some scary scenes, and the overall tone is brilliant. but be warned, characters do stupid things to push along the plot.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/kUMtZ.jpg) A little overrated, but people who like david lynch and just strange movies should check it out. Just disregard the terrible beginning. oh and if you haven't seen fatal attraction, do so, because its the most underrated horror movie, ever.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/KfBdw.jpg) I ONLY rented this because i saw it was by terrance malick, and im a huge fan of the badlands. Gorgeous film.

The Traveler
Wouldn't be that bad if it wouldn't be so cliche and drawn out.

Your Highness
This movie is one big sex-reference joke. Moderately funny.

The Adjustment Bureau
Utter garbage, unless your a hopeless romantic.
Also, am I the only one that had no idea this was a romance???
Are you being serious here? Because this is a serious movie about serious philosophical/theological questions, romance is just used as a trigger here and is completely secondary to the real issue.
I guess I can't be surprised any more... There's been so many bad adaptations of PKD in the past, when the director/producer didn't get what the movie was about and changed it into some pop garbage (vide: Next). Adjustment Bureau is actually a pretty decent adaptation which at least managed to preserve the original idea behind the story.

Jacob's Ladder 8/10 Thanks to a recommendation here I was reminded to check this movie out again! I enjoyed it all the way through. It's a great thinking man's movie.

Limitless Okay compared to what comes out these days, but in an absolute sense it's not that good.

Dorian, quickly after his arrival, becomes close friends with the cynical Lord Henry Wotton, who teaches him a very different way to approach life. The movie plays a lot on getting to know the characters and we get to do that in some sense, but not enough. I never start to care about any of the characters even though some of them are well acted (particularly Colin Firth as Lord Henry Wotton, also seen in The King's Speech which is a great movie that all should see). I would have liked to see more explicit sex and violence scenes, it is a very big part of the movie's story but the scenes are very lacking in detail. There's also a few big gaps in the story where we never get to know what happens to the main characters in these gaps. These are reasons to why this movie feel very lackluster and rushed. This movie could have been so much more, even a great movie, but falls short due to reasons like these. It's still a decent movie that I'd say might be worth watching. IMDB-link Dorian gay, i mean Dorian Gray was awesome! didn't get rated that great on rotten tomatoes, but i enjoyed it.
Better yet go watch the original Picture of Dorian Gray. Much better movie.

Was looking after my brothers kid and needed a movie that wouldn't drive me insane and shut the kid up for a while. Turns out it's pretty good and more violent than you would expect for an animated batman movie. Worth a look. 7/10

Blitz
Your standard Jason Statham movie. The only difference is that this one is really good. And as a bonus, there's some sweet drum 'n bass in it.

![[image loading]](http://geekflavor.com/files/2009/01/shaneacker-9poster-770058.jpg) I thought this movie would be very childish like adventures and fun! But boy, its a Zerg vs Terran in the robotic age! And some of the robots are actually really scary looking too. 4.5/5 rec'd!

![[image loading]](http://static05.moviesense.nl/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Cedar-Rapids.jpg) If you like the "awkward" humor of the Office, you'll like this. Personally, I don't like that kind of humor, and as a result I didn't like this movie because it's pretty much the only humor this movie has with the exception of a couple of jokes. 2/10
![[image loading]](http://bios2005.web-log.nl/.a/6a0133f05c4838970b01538f2d02eb970b-800wi) Didn't expect much going into it and I wasn't really surprised. Yet another cheesy nicholas cage action movie with a lot of unnecessary violence and a dumb plot. 1/10
![[image loading]](http://www.moviepulp.be/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/true-grit-poster1.jpg) Really liked this movie, great acting, funny at times and the plot was really good. 8/10

Irreversible
Stars: 9/10
The movie basically shown in reverse and the entire film is filmed with the development of the message in mind. Is extremely graphic at times, but with good reason for it; however, if your squeamish I recommend looking away at certain parts.
Is an incredibly clever film that I would absolutely recommend.
Cannot recommend highly enough for people who enjoy interestingly directed movies.
@KaelSC Your right. At the time of typing out the post I was worried about using the word cerebral because it didn't quite fit with what I wanted to convey.
However, I think you may be underselling the film in its direction
My view (spoilers): + Show Spoiler +The use of graphic scenes aren't for sensationalism. I mean if the director wanted those scenes to be the 'payoff' for the viewer he would've kept those scenes for the end. But as it is the viewer is forced to sit through a sickening beginning and then dissect the gravity of the preceding scenes and wonder how the chaotic beginning - including the fact they have the wrong guy - could ever sprout from their enviable life painstakingly portrayed in the third act.
Also if you feel an air of pointlessness at the end of the film then the idea that 'time ruins everything' might have been properly shown in the film?

Sadly I beg to differ (but of course this is a matter of personal opinion :D).
Irreversible was an utterly mediocre film, far from cerebral/intelligent unless you're the kind of person that thinks Sudoku is clever. The shock moments are just there to spur on some poor sense of sensational revelation while at the end of the film (or the start, depending on how you look at it) you're left with a aire of pointlessness. I would go in to my reasoning further but i'd struggle without referencing spoilers.
Ultimately a 4.5-5/10 at best.

Captain America 9/10 They got it right, perfect characterization of Captain America -1 as I have no idea what happened in the first 15 minutes due to the line being out the damn door Also... an invaders movie could have been fricking epic. Dammit... Namor, Torch, Toro, Bucky, Cap, Spitfire, Union Jack...
It'd be nice to see if Haley Atwell returns in Avengers/Cap 2 as Sharon Carter, maybe just dye her hair blonde.

Source code!
8/10 Like the concept and the ending, clean!
Law abiding citizens
9/10 Link it cuz it's one of the best movies I have seen since Pokémon 2: The Power Of One

Recently watched a few of my favorite horror/sci-fi movies again, big fan of the 80s in terms of horror movies and special effects, much better than all that CGI bullshit nowadays.
![[image loading]](http://images.hollywood.com/site/alien_movie_poster.jpg)
Alien - Great movie, has a great atmostphere and it's even better if you dont know anything about the plot or future alien movies. 9/10
However, the sequel "Aliens" by James Cameron is even better, and really brings action to the series. Has a great plot and amazing suspense 9.5/10
"Alien 3" and "Alien: Resurrection" are alright, but nothing compared to the other two, 6/10 for both of them. Dont bother unless you really want to see more :D

The Thing (82' remake) - The best alien movie i've ever watched. The special effects are insanely good and the plot is even better. So much better than any modern horror or sci-fi movie. 10/10
