Will definitely watch this one, I love Takeshi's other movies :D In other news I watched this film yesterday ![]() I was expecting an action/thriller type movie but what i got was something completely different. It is a very slow moving character study about an assassin who's had enough and wants out. I think I would have appreciated it a lot more if I wasn't tired and actually paid attention to what was going on :/ I give it a 7/10

There didn't seem to be a whole lot of depth when that's what they were going for. Oh well it was only like 2 hours of my life.

![]() 10/10 for Kung-Fu movies. Great fight sequences, epic training for the main character, and surprisingly good dubbing, at least for the version on youtube.

![]() 8/10 Really well done movie that you can analyze and maybe even relate to. + Show Spoiler + Not really unpredictable because it gave many hints that Tyler was the main character's creation of himself but still a nice plot.

![]() Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior Horrible. ![]() Game of Death The horror! The horror! The same mistakes as in TF3, hour+ long action scenes get boring pretty fast. ![]() Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li Surprisingly good. Andrew managed to mix all the cliche and cheese stuff you'd expect from this movie with a healthy dose of really surprising and mature elements (this movie is NOT for kids, and I'm not talking about the nudity here since there's none).

![]() Apparently the most expensive movie made in China to date. Would not recommend. If you know the story then don't watch it. If you don't know the story then don't watch it. You know those people who like to make themselves look good but nobody else really wants to see it? That's pretty much what happened throughout the entire movie - making the good guys look good and the bad guys look bad and overdoing it.

![]() The Man From Nowhere - Really liked this, had some pretty cool fight scenes. ![]() Twelve O'Clock High - About aircrews in the United States Army's Eighth Air Force who flew daylight bombing missions against Nazi Germany and occupied France during the early days of American involvement in World War II. Gregory Peck is excellent in it. Does take a awhile for the air battles to start though, moved slow for my taste. ![]() Let The Right One In - Wow, this was fucking amazing. A vampire movie done right, fuck yes. ![]() Let Me In - Was pretty faithful to the original, I did hate how they changed some parts of it though. + Show Spoiler + Like when Eli attacked, they pretty much just CGI'd that shit, the eli in this version also seemed more brutal in general as opposed to the swedish version, where you can see she doesnt really enjoy killing people, she just has no other alternative really to get blood. Overall, enjoyed the swedish original more, but this was still a good remake. ![]() The Crow - The infamous film where Brandon Lee died while filming a scene of. Just came across this by accident on netflix but decided to watch it. Some rocker is murdered along with his fiance by ruthless thugs and he gets resurrected to get revenge on the people who killed him. Thought this was pretty good. ![]() The Conversation - Suprised I have never heard of this considering the director is pretty famous (Francis Ford Coppola). Main character is a surveillance expert who is extremely professional with his work but also very bad with relationships. He still carrys guilt from a job years ago that ended in a few deaths, and he fears a couple he was hired to follow is going to die as well. Found this to be very good. ![]() IP Man 2 - Pretty good, didn't like it as much as the first one though. ![]() Marwencol - On April 8, 2000, Mark Hogancamp was attacked outside of a bar by five men who nearly beat him to death. After nine days in a coma and forty days in the hospital, Mark was discharged with brain damage that left him little memory of his previous life. He ends up being kicked out of the hospital because he couldn't afford it anymore. He builds a WWII era town in his backyard and populates it with action figures and barbie dolls, naming them and giving them roles, and acting out scenes with them. He also takes alot of photographs of these scenes. You get the sense that this is therapy in his mind, helping him cope with the horrible events that changed his life forever. Found this to be really good.

That's pretty much what happened throughout the entire movie - making the good guys look good and the bad guys look bad and overdoing it. There's a part two as well. Definitely some of the best action and special effects comparable to 300 or even LOTR but very realistic and no CGI (the way that the Chinese roll).

It's what you expect from a Transformers movie, obviously if you wanted a riveting plot with complex twists and the arthouse pseudo deep, meaningful and thought provoking theme it's not going to deliver on that.

It was literally a Takeshi Kaneshiro subtle brag (yet obvious to everyone else even though he's pretending not to) fest. Watching it really reminded me of this crappy blog: http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=239796

Also, to the above, the chun li street fighter movie was almost certainly one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I don't understand how you can try to claim is has depth of is only for the more mature.
