Liquid winning a LAN where half the competition is at another LAN and the other half is mostly stand ins and Apex Legends players just isn't that impressive.

It's March and they're playing BO1 elimination matches at the first DPC event they've attended as 5.

Pasha and NoOne were playing ApexLegends during the drafting stage at one day, so it looks like they did not take this tournament pretty seriously.

The games against Keen were concerning. For the first time I'm actually wondering what is happening with the boys. Everyone felt just generally uninspired and there was none of the aura of invincibility that they used to have. Let's cheer for a good showing versus Chaos tomorrow to get some redemption against Fnatic probably.

I think they might need a break. They've been going HARD lately. Very few days off, flying directly from tournaments to bootcamp. I think (hope) we're OK for at least top 8 and then the can, hopefully, get some rest after the next major qualifier and re-evaluate

Surely, even with bootcamping, their schedule this year is nowhere near as rigorous as previous years. And they've had plenty of rest already. We're on the third major out of five and they haven't even participated in the previous two. I feel like, if anything, they have the opposite problem: they need more official games, more tournaments, to get back into the groove.

Or maybe they realize how far behind they are this season and the pressure is causing them to burn themselves out trying to catch up.

Or maybe it's both.

In any case, the Liquid at this event is not the Liquid we've come to expect. Hopefully they'll make some sort of miracle lower bracket run à la TI7 to at least grab enough DPC points to have a more secure position in the standings.

You cannot ban against Secret to be fair. Each hero they play is first ban material at the moment.

The itemization was wrong as they did not change it but stick to their comfort zone.

I don't know if the coach has anything to do with the drafts, but I will agree with you - Usually they play well at least. But this tournament was embarassing to put it mildly - something is really wrong they just played bad. Havent seem them play like that ever.

They never stood any chance against Chaos in the first place. This Liquid is completely clueless and lost. I lost all hope for them after their group stage so I'm not too shocked by what's happened. Guess it's time for them to work harder and improve so they perform well at yet another non-DPC tournament which is virtually meaningless at this point.

Feels a bit like the opposite of last years DCP Season where the played way to many tournaments.

This year, there is a lot less tournaments overall, they got unlucky to not allways be the full team when they played.
I think now there is at least some amount of pressure to perform while not having the most experience and also not the most oportunitys.

This must be a shock to the team as well, they know they not only can do better but this wasnt even a fraction of what they are capable of.

Hope they will bounce back!

Liquid has to redeem themselves for this showing. This was much worse than the Birmingham Major last year.

Don't know...missing the words right now. Never felt so disappointed about this team like today.

What an utterly uninspired performance. Seems like every single game was just them giving every single one of their cores disadvantageous lane matchups, losing all the lanes to no one's surprise, and then getting run over. If they had a plan, if there was any purpose whatsoever behind their drafts, we didn't get to see it because they just got ran over in the laning stage.

And they did it again, and again, and again, as if expecting that something will magically change if they just believe in the heart of the cards, or something.

Why didn't they even TRY to swap lanes in that last game? They could have had good matchups. Instead they had the worst matchups possible on all 3 lanes, and did absolutely nothing about it. What's even the point of having Kuro Tusk in top lane against Ursa?

I'm so sick of watching Liquid bash their heads against a wall instead of going around it.

I feel like I may have accidentally created horcruxes today because my soul was split over that performance. And not only that, but the looks o the players faces (and Matu with his head in his hands, and the in-game cams) broke my heart a little. Please no reshuffle

Yeah, please keep that in mind people. It's not like they didn't try. Please don't be too harsh on them.

I have been lucky enough to interact with the team a lot lately and this won't be something they just shake off. After their elimination from Birmingham in 2017, they came up for a press round after losing to Secret. Now I won't name names but at least one of the players was absolutely crushed. Looked like he was on the verge of crying. That's how hard this team takes losses. That's how invested they are.

I understand you're all disappointed but please don't imply that they're not trying. Because if it's one thing I know for sure is that they are. We know we have the individual skill, it's about making slight adjustments. We'll be back. There are still two majors left and the team will surely use this for fuel!

Ah the risk of a BO1 elimination game, play it a 100 times and Liquid score would looks like this 99 win and 1 lose. GG WP to chaos.
