I honestly think, that so long as EG manage to get out fo the group stages, and get through the 1st round of the knock out rounds, it'll be a EG secret final, secret taking it at TI. Analysing it down: The only teams to take a game of secret have been: EG (then have lost in every other final vs. secret they have played) VP (a good team, but it was a horrible draft by secret, and a BO 1) Empire (Secret basically used a game to experiment with a few new heros) ViCi (Group stages, but it was a good draft all games, and VG only took a game off of a bo3) Then any further back and we're looking at the scary facezzzz game that was just a cancerous series. | ||

I mean, you need to take off your glasses. Here is the raw truth, taking the freshest info: the only things that have beaten Secret in 6.84 were straight outdrafts like VG's game at TS3, EG's game at TS3, EG's game at ESL (i don't count meaningless Bo1s here, sorry VP) or Secret hardcore throwing like their game against Empire at MDL (and no, they were not doing anything unusual this game, it was their cookie cutter draft for the tournament) and almost the game 4 of ESL. | ||

They can lose to the future winner earlier then in the finals and get out of top 2 and it wouldn't be a shame. Claiming TI title before playing it, after winning 4 lan after a huge patch would be foolish | ||

Look at team secret for example. Every tournament they enter, they have a good chance of being top 3. The prize money earned is likely to be more lucrative than their salary, so why subject themselves to get their winnings cut? Sponsorships used to be necessary because flight and lodging expenses are placed on the players. But now these matters are covered by tournaments, so it is no longer an issue. Even gaming houses could lose its appeal, as it doesn't cost much each for a flight to gather up in a place, stay in a budget accommodation, and make an arrangement with a local lan cafe for a private practice room. Accommodation is an issue though if these players want some 5 star treatment. | ||
