Becuase he kinda appeals to the lowest common denominator, due to being part of that group himself. What do you mean? I tweeted him about it, but it got no love or return. While many users in-game use my guides, it is usually not very well-known beyond (I think, especially to professional organizations, Valve or those people). It's a very awkward subject where I get a good amount of appreciation/feedback, but I haven't hit that point where anything I produced is posted on Reddit or told to more prominent people. An example is: http://www.liquiddota.com/forum/the-tavern/471436-1-year-40-million-dota-builds-project-overview I was hoping this would get passed around more, especially with how much effort I put into it, but it didn't and honestly, that's just how things go and I can't be attention-seeking like: "please read my shit, I'm important bla bla bla", it's just not who I am or who I want to be. I can put myself on a pedestal and assume what I'm doing is above others as that would assume people's interests or assume a self-importance perhaps not convinced to the masses. So I'm literally stuck in the middle of just continuing to work hard as I do and hope more notice (honestly, it's not like the subscription numbers have slowed, so I am getting a return in users) or try and sellout and make myself more prominent/worth than I really am.

Hes not out to be useful, hes there to say controversial shit and get attention for it. Ah well, I'm glad he has that leeway to do it ![]() I think even Nazgul didn't notice my work until a month ago, so it just goes to show that I'm under the radar AND I SHOULD BUY MORE FOLLOWERS OF COURSEEEEEEEEEEEEE But in all truth, I'm still finding good jobs in the eSports industry, so the right people are looking at my work/writing/history of accomplishments. Should I really try for more?

Any time I teach a friend to play dota, the first thing I do is teach them to use the shop and then how to find your guide for any hero they might be playing.

Honestly, I'm just burnt out. not even close to ded. our main developer has done nothing but put out balance changes that are based around professional play, not the average 1k mmr game like some other ded gaem I know and is referenced in my tag on LD (I gotta get that changed..) torte - I agree with p6. advertise the shit outta your guides and try to get someone like slacks to give you a shoutout. perhaps one day someone will catch wind and get you a super big shoutout. luck = preparation plus opportunity. you're more than established and prepared, create an opportunity for yourself!

Your guides are most valuable for newer players and you might want to promote them streamers and other folks. I don't think EE is doing to drop a line on his streams, but someone like Sir Action Slacks might to his fans. Any time I teach a friend to play dota, the first thing I do is teach them to use the shop and then how to find your guide for any hero they might be playing. Bah, you're right. Especially in this world, I should just shrug off all the niceties and consideration of others and just spam spam spam. Right now, all the guide creators quit pretty much. Since November actually, so I'm actually in no competition, it's not about using that basis of efforts to branch out into new opportunities. Though, not sure where as I am not looking to make any more money or self-promotion (unless fame is now a valid currency in Europe). We'll see, this project is actually consuming full working hours (9 to 7) when a new patch hits or changes are made, so it's becoming a bit too time-consuming to be a side-project and I may need to start considering patreon or some shit (though it pains me to do that). I'm not sure though what I want though. I could live with what I have now. Yeah, but what's the point? As I said, I have a mainstream job working on a project for eSports, so I'm not looking for more work/opportunities (right now). More followers/interest is a double-edged sword and I don't really need it and I don't need the money thanks to this new job (so far, maybe in the future if things don't work out). So it would just be more fame/attention, maybe branch off into projects I'd like to get involved in (player association, visiting Valve to pitch ideas for CSGO/Dota 2 and work on my free time) or just visit events (though this new job may lend itself to that). sooooooooooo
