I kinda want to get an offhand//new main hand but I lose a lot of armour and a bunch of crit, I want to make sure I can switch builds before throwing money at it instead of just upgrading my gear in general and sticking to the safe build.

I checked out the gear/stats on some completely pimped out monks and came to the realization that they barely have any defensive stats. monks with really high dps (100k+) have like 400 resistances. Didn't play for like 2 months, vas on a pretty long vacation ^^, so when I came back, the weapon prices already plummeted pretty hard and I could deck myself out in pretty decent gear, only my weapons remain pretty subpar (950 and 720 dps) currently sitting at unbuffed 50k dps, 720 AR, 5.5k armor and 2.7% life steal, and a3 is almost a breeze. There is a rare pack here and there that kills me, but most are dead in a blind + serenity combo. Currently bidding on Inna's pants to get the additional 12% MS and doing some Tempest Rush testing, since most of the times I die it's due to getting stuck in a rare pack, and with TR I can get out + I love the additional speed between rare packs with tailwind. I imagine i'll need to get used to it a bit, since I've been playing the cookie-cutter build for a pretty long while now, but it's gonna be fun ^^.

Blackthorne would be proud. I'm tanky enough that I can watch SC2 or whatever on the side, but still clear pretty fast. I'll probably grab a Tyrael's Might for my extra movespeed if I can find a decent poison one. I already have pretty good Blackthorne spurs anyway. I ended up with tons of mf somehow, so I usually don't really bother swapping anymore. I really don't like Inna's set, so I'm glad I found my chest and helm. Btw leser, can't you usually get out of rare packs simply by shift targetting FoT at an enemy on the side? It usually works for me, between serenity, blind and teleports, I rarely get stuck in a pack that isn't illusionist/horde phase beasts.

http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Teutonica-2935/hero/6046910 basically I need more dex but I have to drop lots of resist to do that unless I farm some gold so I gotta work out where I'm at I might try the serenity blind FoT build see if it works out. Maybe I'll get a cheap won kim lau thing for <2 mil to test it.

Movespeed is hella nice when A3 is on complete farm status.

I keep an eye out for Prowlers, but so far it's been a disappointment. I can probably snipe a dex/poison Tyrael's Might under 14M/20$, but I'd need to find crit chance somewhere else before I can swap my bracers for crit-less lacunis. Well, I guess it would still be fine since I don't have a socketed Won Khim Lau yet anyway, but I like those little tornadoes floating around. How much did you pay yours? If anyone cares, here's how much I paid my gear: Chest and Helm, found. Pants 25$, Litany 55$, Cross 7$. Belt 7M, Won Khim Lau 1.2M, Mace 1M. Shoulders 250k, Bracers, Boots, Ring, Gloves below 100k. Edit: Saw that you paid 4M, really nice, I'll have to consider those at that price. Thanks. Edit2: Did a few tests, and 8% attack speed from lacunis will still be on par with 4.5% crit even if I get a 2nd socket weapon. A lot fewer tornadoes, but I don't know if those have a max number...

I don't think deadly reach sucks it's just thunderclap is beyond broken and nothing else comes close if they removed it maybe the other spirit generators would see more use. Although monks would probably but pretty UP because basically everyone must be using this build to farm in inferno act3. I still feels a bit like unglorified demon hunter but I guess that can't be helped unless I get more hp and dex//armour to keep alive like i would with a shield. I killed Cydaea before she went in the air once. Although I died quite a lot mostly avoidable deaths but it is easy to die. I'm guessing a good route is somethingl iek Tower of the damned level 1/2 Arreat creater lvl 2 Tower of curesd 1/2 Arreat core+Azmodan Rakkis+Fields of Slaughter+Caves there Keeps level 1/2 Sell full inventory of rares to vendor (I've gotten only trash and a few 100 k items out of like 200+ so far zzz) repeat profit paragon levels? Maybe I just should get a better main hand DPS weapon, movement speed pants and boots and just speed clear l0l

I agree that thunderclap is ridiculously strong, or everything else is plain bad. The fact that its proc multiplier is 0.5x higher than the rest is also ridiculous, considering this information is only available through extensive testing...

![]() I replaced the spear with it, and I seem to be critting for similar amounts, and white hitting for a little more. So of course, if I'm hitting for similar amounts at a faster speed, it's a dps increase. I might just invest in a serious business Won Kim with crit damage and a socket, we'll see.. Edit: Oh, and I've replaced resolve with the 10% move speed with no ill effects.

You clear through everything so fast it doesn't matter if you're a glass cannon because blind+invul rapes everything when thunderclap lets you just jump in whenever everythings off cd and the scaling on overawe blazing wraith and faith in the light is silly. Vortex procs all the time with dual wielding as well. In regards to the quoted post, Is it worth to go lifesteal instead of LoH now? Does anyone have an innovative build that works well post-patch? I've experiemented a little but, but the only variance I've done to my current build is Exploding Palm/The Flesh is Weak, it's actually a really good replacement for Breath of Life/Blazing Wrath, if only because you can dump more spirit when fighting large packs (just hit a couple of Mobs with Exploding Palm and watch the fireworks), and you have better single target DPS than with Blazing Wrath. I run Arreat Crater lvl 1 to get stacks, then Tower of the Cursed down to Azmodan on my MF runs, gearswaps to about 250 MF on elites and bosses. I usually die 4-5 times on this run but it's more fun than Act1 runs, can anyone give me any tips on what to upgrade next? I'm poor as hell with only about 5M to my name, I figure a better Main hand should be nice. Has anyone tried two-hander Monk post-patch? For me if I could get a lifesteal weap that satisfied my needs, I would probably use that instead of LoH. This is at 50k unbuffed dps(with 20% WKL, so roughly 55-60k). Lifesteal does outscale LoH because lifesteal applies to everything(my sweeping wind alone is ~30kdps per target with buffs not including cyclones) Wrath buff outscales every single monk skill in terms of damage per spirit spent(DPSS) except for the initial cast of MoC, so I'm not sure why you'd drop that. In my gear, almost every mob blows up in 1-2 hits apart from elites, and large packs melt in seconds anyways due to massive AoE damage from FoT and SW. Personally I run keeps and fields of slaughter->azmodan in about 70-80 minutes with 250 mf after NV.

Honestly I don't know the math on lifesteal vs LoH but I see a lot of people getting it and I imagine the reasoning is it scales better off vortex//sweeping wind//crits in general while LoH scales strictly on attack speed.

2.5% Lifesteal is worth about 1% of your unbuffed dps in LoHit, and 100 regen is worth about 40 LoHit when it actually matters. If you can get lifesteal + about 500 of both regen/LoHit, you should be able to survive anything; more and you can get very lazy. I get about the same cleartime Amui, except my unbuffed dps is about 38k, but I probably have more life sustenance so I basically never disengage. It's usually 75mins for a 20-25M xp run, with 315mf after neph/enchantress. Fwiw, good WW Barbs do it in about half the time, and great ones get 10M in 10mins.

Timed my last clear, same route, ~65, +-5 minutes probably depending on spawns. First time really timing a clear since getting the WKL. I think monks scale a lot better in terms of clear speed with MS rather than more damage. ~25-30% more damage for about a 10-15% clear speed increase, and it only goes down from here.

I'm running this setup for A3 farming. I'll die anywhere from 0-10ish times for my runs depending on affix combos or how bunched champs/rares are. Enchantress brings another 7k dps into play which is really nice.
