And to be honest, I have to agree with them in the sense that his real policy positions on trade, foreign policy, healthcare, and so on, should take precedence over his problems with women and occasional twitter feuds. So long as he doesn't propose some law saying women no longer have the right to vote (and that won't happen), its just a side show.
So I get the feeling that most people probably don't care that much today either. I would definitely be disappointed in Trump for acting like a child, but I think what most people still care about, or what they should care about, is what he is doing in office to improve the economy or the environment (in the latter case, absolutely nothing). I think what we are observing is mostly just a war between the media and Trump, and the rest of America is just sitting back and eating popcorn. Except the hardcore liberals of course; but then, practically anything Trump does will make them livid.
But his approval ratings are likely low due to his inability to get anything meaningful accomplished besides a temporary ban on some Muslims from some countries, and yelling at the media on twitter. He just hasn't done anything useful, and I think people are starting to realize, this guy's claims were nonsense. He isn't really a great business genius, and he can't really get anything done. He can't even get his own party to pass a new healthcare bill, or remove the old one, and that was supposed to be one of the defining issues for the Republican party.
In the mean time, he is robbing the country and getting out of debt.

I think trumps Twitter antics probably helps in some ways but has hurt him tremendously in others. He has reduced himself and his office to a meme that no one outside his small base takes seriously. He also distracts and disrupts his own party and the majority of the things he has tried have failed. I don't really see him accomplishing any of his own goals. The only thing he has done is further erode trust in media and that is about it but it's a pyrrhic victory as he erodes his own support to just his fanboys on the internet.

I'm not going to lie, considering indigenous people make up a comparable section of our population, Jewish people are greatly overrepresented in media. They are but I don't really think it is some crazy conspiracy. They don't really present a united front on well... Anything, so not really sure how it helps anyone. There's probably a ton of factors that led to their dominance in media, with random luck being a large part (their population centers overlapped with media centers of the US).
Indigenous people being far underrepresented is easily explained, they're kept in literal fucking hellholes and fucked over in a way that's hard to argue wasn't intended by numerous laws.
Media tends to overrepresent urban centers, especially NYC and LA, there are far more gay people and black people cast than is proportional of the country as well (not true of all genres of TV and Film).

I thought it was closer than that. Yeah, it's a pretty stark difference. France is one of EU's biggest countries and is about the size of Texas. They also both have a Paris. So what? France has twice as many people. Europe in general has twice as many people as USA. The countries which make up the EU contains more people, yet the idea to only travel within the EU is a pretty strange one for those living within it. Yet most Europeans in the high income European countries have travelled outside to another continent within their lifetimes. Nearly everyone owns a passport irregardless of whether they need one to travel within the EU. Even the poor. It's pretty obvious why you feel a bit diminshed about the whole passport thing, but saying that USA is a large country doesn't explain it. It matters because the space that the USA takes up lets you experience a vast array of environments without needing a passport. I don't need a passport to go to Hawaii, while I'm pretty sure you need a passport to go to Mauritius. So unless I'm destination traveling, like if I wanted to see Venice, I don't have a purpose for owning a passport. I'm not going to spend money so I can get a new passport when I don't intend to use it. You can go to Mauritius without a passport? I don't understand your strange chestbeating over land area. USA has bigger landmass than the European Union therefore what exactly? The world is many multiples bigger than the USA and the countries which make up the EU combined. I really don't udnerstand why you would be so proud of not owning a passport. Here, it's basically an admission that you are either so poor you can't afford to travel or have no interest in other cultures. For the last time, it comes down to the reason for having a passport. If you live in a hypothetical country that is arid grassland and desert and want to go skiing, you probably need a passport to go to another country that has it. Yet if the Western half of the US was it's own country, that has both. Because the US is such a big place, it covers a lot of different climates. So when it comes to passports, Americans don't tend to need them because they can get most of what they want out of traveling by just going somewhere else in the country.
It has nothing to do with pride in not having on, but not having a need for one. Passports aren't expensive, but why should I have one if I have no intention of using one and can get one if I need one? I've been to Europe and South America, but I have no reason to go back there right now.

I believe the tweets are extremely successful at achieving The President of The United States of America's goals, to bring everyone's attention to himself. Over 200k retweets!
You guys are judging trump as a politician and a statesman but that's not what or who he is.

Re: Chen resignation He resigned because the government won't hold itself to the same high standards as corporations? When did it ever? It's been the exception rather than the rule for my whole lifetime.

I don't recall corporations having high standards than government, or high standards in general.
at any rate; the standards are surely a lot worse under trump than they were previously.

Corporations have the lowest standards possible without breaking the law.
|
Corporations are barely regulated or policed by the federal government. Wells Fargo makes thousands of fake accounts, lies to investors and faces little if any consequences. America Airlines directly causes one of their passengers to be beaten and we hear about it in congress once or twice. The FBI has no department to police banks or white collar crime. There were times when events like that would have dominated congress for weeks. And it has been going on for so long that people just think it is normal now.

So what's the point of your random tweet sharing?
Do you share the ridiculous opinion you are sharing here? Do you believe video games make kids violent?

I think his Twitter activity is probably a hamper on his agenda. It does matter where the media is focusing it's attention - all those people in Congress have to deal with the fallout of Trump's tweets.

Meh, I've complained more than enough about low-content Twitter posts that really don't add much to the discussion. But I'm evidently in the minority on that topic, so fuck it.

Is Trump's tweet supposed to be anti-Semitic? It's just more slander by association and innuendo. I agree. And it's stupid. People don't check the meme production of people whose memes they retweet to see that they haven't produced offensive memes in the past. While I think it's a completely inconsequential issue (if there's a 0-100 scale of issues of importance and climate change is 100, then 'can retweet offensive stuff without repercussions' is 0.001), a lot of people actually seem to like Trump, and dislike the high horse liberals, because they somewhat consistently look for stuff to be offended by and people want to be able to communicate without being accused of some form of unintended bigotry or offensiveness. It's fair that we should hold the president to a higher standard, of course, but looking through the meme history of this TD contributor just misses the ball completely. I mean you don't really need to look up the posting history of anyone on /r/t_d to know that they'll have said a bunch of anti Semitic things.

This guy is claiming to be the person who Trump retweeted. His comment history is about average for a user of r/The_Donald, which is to say, pretty horrific if you want to dig through all of it. The actual tweet actually doesn't bother me at all. I found it kind of funny. That Trump is retweeting what seems an awful lot like a white supremacist does bother me, though. www.reddit.com

CNN deserved a bit of ridicule for their fake news on Russia. I didn't expect it to come in the form of a wrestling gif though. Ms. Navarro's take is the sort of overreaction that probably makes conservatives cheer Trump poking the mainstream media in the eye even more. Even from that short video, it's readily apparent Ms. Navarro is and will be biased against Trump in her commentary at CNN.
CNN's statement: “We will keep doing our jobs. He should start doing his.” is so rich in irony I hope they don't die from iron poisoning. This recent dustup was exactly because CNN failed to do their job in vetting a story about Trump ties to Russia.
