What is not normal is that an elected president attacks the media with memes he has presumably dug up in some corner of the internet C'mon, man. I have never said that Trump shouldn't criticized. I have been quite clear that there are many fertile grounds on which he can be criticized. However, what I have also made clear is that it is utterly irresponsible and contemptible for the media to attack Trump with nothing more than bullshit and innuendo --- particularly when the bullshit and innuendo is so inflammatory. I mean I mostly agree with you on this but it's not all bullshit and innuendo, there's just so much of it, that the legitimate stuff easily gets lost. Seems pretty clear after this tweet Democrats have absolutely no idea how to beat Trump, and are on the way to losing in 18 and again in 2020. Hard to decide who to be more ashamed of sometimes. Do you disagree that the Russia and obstruction of justice lines of attack have been, by far, the most prominent?

The reason why they can't comprehend it is that you never offer anything that has actual value in your defenses. Remember when Trump used to be good because he was playing 7d chess and he was going to have 80% popularity? Now he's good because he triggers the left and CNN deserves it. Times change.
I will agree that I don't think your problem is devotion to Trump though, rather it's hatred of the opposition.

Out of curiosity: How well-known is Rufus Gifford in the US? He was the US ambassador in Denmark for Obama and INCREDIBLY popular over here (can we please have him back?). He recently made a post on facebook that he had the same odds as Oprah of becoming the next President (which coupled with some of his other posts seem to suggest that he might run).

Isn't he gay? I would guess that means his chances of winning the presidency is thus basically 0 with the amount of religious nuts the US has.

I think my analysis of the Russia nonsense has been remarkably spot on. There have been others as well. And I don't see how the 7d chess and the "CNN deserves it" rationales for Trump attacking CNN (or any other outlet) are mutually exclusive. In fact, I have been expressing both rationales simultaneously since the GOP primary.
Where I did fall short, however, was in my prediction of what Trump would do once he became president (which I have previously admitted).

Diplomats tend not to fare well in national elections here in the US, likely due in large part to the fact that they spend the vast majority of their time in a foreign country.

Well I was answering the question first, then just making some commentary on the recent attacks on Bernie still happening among Democrats.
But no I didn't literally mean all they talk about is Russia/Obstruction or badmouthing Bernie if that's what you're asking?
Democrats want Republicans to pass their "healthcare" bill, the worse the Republicans are, the worse the Democrats can be and still say they aren't as bad.
If Democrats could choose between a Republican party devoted to improving the quality of life for all people, or one that erected a giant Mammon alter in the middle of the Mall, sacrificed people daily, and openly advocated to bring back slavery, they'd pick the latter, because the former would make them irrelevant.

I find his recent tweets hilarious because just like 2 weeks ago some of the Trump voters I know, who are barely hanging on, tried to convince me that he was getting better and wasn't tweeting crazy anymore and will get more presidential.

Can you expand upon this? Is it because voters don't know them that well as a consequence? Or is the perception that it is somehow bad to spend so much time abroad?
EDIT: Yes he is gay (got married to his partner in Denmark actually - probably part of the reason why we like him so much. We are easy to win over like that.) I think people are generally more sensible than we give them credit for.

Yeah, you've totally missed the boat. To be fair to him, most sane people missed that boat a long while ago. People who think I am slavishly devoted to Trump are either stupid or liars. The vast majority are the former, because they can't comprehend why anything that Trump has done (or not done) may be remotely defensible. They are too busy riding leftist media pole to think critically. Uncoincidetally, these are the same "sane" people who somehow miss all of my criticisms of the Right. My defenses of Trump never have any value? I think my analysis of the Russia nonsense has been remarkably spot on. There have been others as well. And I don't see how the 7d chess and the "CNN deserves it" rationales for Trump attacking CNN (or any other outlet) are mutually exclusive. In fact, I have been expressing both rationales simultaneously since the GOP primary.
So is the idea that Trump takes a break from 7d chess to tweet about how mean the media is to him and how they deserve to be memed for it, or is it that the use of memes is a 7d chess move?

Edit: And LOL at all of the people who think that Trump's tweet encourages violence. This is a bit rich from the guy who tried to pin the Congressional shooting on Democrats' extreme rhetoric. How much more blatant can you get than a video of you literally beating up your political opposition? There is a big, obvious difference between the quality of my argument and yours. Undermining the legitimacy of the president by arguing repeatedly that he is a Russian stooge and that we are about to undergo Watergate II (among other things) is a completely different animal than Trump using a fake wrestling video to humiliate CNN. Seriously, you should be embarrassed. You should be embarrassed by your own slavish devotion to Trump. Just because people you don't like condemn Trump's actions, doesn't make them good. But you always manage to find a way to contort your opponents' condemnations as some kind of justification for your Trump-licking. Also, no one outside of the Trump cult thinks his retweet humiliated CNN. Everyone that hasn't swallowed the orange cool-aid thinks he diminished the Office of the Presidency by dragging it down to the level 4chan/Redditor memes. Yes, it was a racist redditor who made the meme. https://www.reddit.com/r/The_Donald/comments/6ku6mp/wow_i_never_expected_my_meme_to_be_retweeted_by/ "My slavish devotion to Trump." post-election too? because I can totally accept that it was helpful in winning the election, but now I think a lot of the reluctant trump supporters - necessary for him to win - are really disappointed with his continued twitter clownishness.

Indisputably is a strong word; CNN is smashing profit records, MSNBC even more so. Trump's approval rating is very low; mid term turnout from Dems could be very high.

Effective at what? Tanking his approval ratings? Tanking America's standing in the world? Causing a constant distraction from getting legislation passed? Maybe if he spent as much time as he does stalking Morning Joe and obsessing over CNN on learning about the healthcare issue then we could have a President contributing to the debate rather than detracting and distracting from it.
