Would still be at least a third cheaper, even if the most expensive single-payer state in Europe is used as a baseline. But it's whatever the government wants to pay for healthcare in single payer. So then what good is an idea if it doesn't even have numbers attached to it? What is he actually doing to build a framework? If he can't even get a number, why has this issue been the center of his campaign?
did you seriously just ask "what good is an idea if it doesn't even have numbers attached to it?"

This alone makes it worth making the center of his campaign.

I mean Bernie probably has more numbers attached to his plans than the rest of the candidates in the field if you really wanna judge a candidate on such a basis.

Do tax rates typically have numbers attached to them? Costs? Maybe it's my own poor memory, but I recall those things usually having numbers associated with them.

Thought on debate:
On the minus side, I disliked the dog-whistling about expanded surveillance, encryption back doors, and decreased due process.
On the plus side, nobody called for the murder of the children of terrorists and militants.
Wonder what the next debate will be like for the Republicans.

I think Sanders looked as good as he's looked so far on foreign policy. Clinton was Clinton which is good for her I guess, and O'Malley can only talk about Maryland and anecdotes, as he "earnestly" squints into the camera lol.
Wouldn't be shocked if this was a 2 person race after Iowa.
|
I like O'Malley as a person but as far this run is concerned he's dead lol.
Bernie talking about 3 month paid leave and free college gives me pause though.

Can we just cut a deal with Canada to use their president? I'd take Trudeau over any of the American candidates.

I'll read stuff tomorrow about the debate, but any summarizing thoughts? What topics were covered and how did Hillary and Bernie do?

I'm probably wrong but I think that there may be too many sexist people in the voting demographic to even elect Hillary into office. My money is on the man, whoever he is.

I'm not so sure about that... we sure in hell have plenty of racist people and still got Obama elected.

Whoa.

not too surprising that bernie wins an online poll. young, idealistic people are enthusiastic about bernie and are the digital natives of today.

lol sexism? You have no basis for that. Hillary reminds us every debate that you have the opportunity to elect the first woman president.
|
An online poll going Sanders' way is nothing new. Anyone remember Ron Paul? That crazy old dude with radical ideas? huh. Anyway, how many polls did he win on Fox news and other websites? I still support Sanders, but these polls are meaningless. Polls are essentially just Reddit at this point.

We don't have a president.

And the US has made it very clear that they don't want to have your queen.

Probably more tbh. The idea that we could have a first female president now is actually one that resonates with progressive men too. Not that progressives would vote for the Republican nominee over Hillary anyway, but those Democrats who don't really know Bernie well might be totally fine with picking the better-known name: Hillary.
