LeBron is just not as good as the rest at being falsely humble. But I would give him a bigger break since he has been in the spotlight since he was a kid and never got to mature properly than I would give Jordan who even as a grown ass man has to give the hall of fame speech that he gave.

They all repeat the same script that their PR teams have drilled into their heads, e.g. say you got a lot of support from your team, say your opponents fought hard, you had a good game, etc. Is this what they would say if they were playing on the street? They would be like "bitch I just nutted in your mouth! How does that taste?!" LeBron is just not as good as the rest at being falsely humble. This discussion about players having to give canned responses in interviews reminds me of Rasheed Wallace with "Bof team played hard" on repeat. trololol... Seriously though, it's a bit extreme to say that EVERYONE is like that. There certainly aren't many good sports in the league, but there are some, e.g. Grant Hill, Jason Kidd, etc.

It's as canned and planned as everyone else. Barkley and 'sheed might be better examples, though they are blasts from the past. 2. Granger getting injured as he tried to wrap up Lebron. It's usually the other guy that gets hurt doing something like that, right? Goddamn freight train, that man. 3. I think OKC can beat the Spurs solidly because they don't rely on passing or any kind of organized halfcourt game, they're a bunch of [very very good] chuckers. Spurs need individually excellent defenders to deal with that I think. They don't have Bowen anymore though, so they will be challenged. Duncan might have a field day if Ibaka guards him though. Serge never saw a pump fake he didn't like [jump at]. But seeing as they contained Paul somewhat, I can see the Spurs containing Russell "Donatello" Westbrook. It will be hard-fought for sure. The winner should be able to beat Bosh-less Miami or Indiana easily. I'm rooting for the Spurs though, I want to see OKC pay some dues before winning.

And I agree with Vituvrian. There are some good guys in the league for sure. edit: On May 23 2012 12:38 Chunhyang wrote: But seeing as they contained Paul somewhat, I can see the Spurs containing Russell "Donatello" Westbrook. It's quite pathetic to see "fans" 2 years later still butt hurt over it. Go watch his 2012 MVP speech, how can you hate this guy? He's truly a "good guy" as much as you'd like to think otherwise. He makes mistakes, he's human. LeBron is a once in a lifetime talent. You won't see this kind of basketball from a player in another 30-40 years. Watch the game and appreciate it instead of filling threads with trash about how much you hate a certain player. Get over it. Are people not allowed to have different opinions on players? Everyone keeps mentioning "hate", "haters" blah blah but its not like anyone really hates Lebron. They just see a reason to root against him. Have you never rooted against a team or player? Everyone seems to be taking this shit personally, when it was really just a discussion on why some people rooted for, and some people rooted against, Lebron. Its kind of funny Hotbid said he would stop "derailing" the thread, and then then you come in and provoke him again. Then what? If he responds, are you going to tell him to stop "filling the thread with trash" again. Its a thread about the NBA and people are sharing their opinions on NBA players. What is to be expected? Personally, I have mixed feelings about Lebron. One thing I think everyone can agree on though is he is a great player. The rest should be allowed to be up for debate. People should be free to root for who they want. Its the drama that makes sports so fun

It's just plain pathetic. If your derive your enjoyment from seeing the greatest current NBA talent lose a game, then you don't actually like to watch great basketball, i.e, I don't consider you a true fan of the sport. Every intelligent NBA fan that I have spoken to in real life appreciate LeBron, every ignorant fan I meet in real life call him a choker. Anyway, I'm done talking this.

Wow, it really kills you that someone else doesn't like your favorite player. One day you'll learn that not everyone likes the same stuff.

As I said earlier, I think he's a great player. But that doesn't necessarily mean I have to root for him. And it doesn't mean I'm not "true NBA fan" if I chose to root against him. Watching him and Wade go nuts in game 4 was really entertaining, I'm not gonna lie. They played well and it was fun to watch. In fact, I think it made it even more thrilling to watch Lebron knowing that every great play he made defied my wishes. Just because I'm rooting for the other team doesn't mean I can't appreciate his skill.
