Metta is on the NBA's shitlist. After the antics he's pulled (Malice at the Palace), he wont be voted to anything. For example, the flagrant foul called on him.. That was a normal foul, and they called a Flagrant on him. If Lebron James did that, they wouldn't call a flagrant on him.

i hope the thunder beat the spurs. chalmers will be fine on westbrook. lebron can guard durant at the end of the game. and for the first three quarters heat can allow durant to score 30+ while watching everyone else. unfortunately, i think the spurs will win. maybe 4-1 or 4-2 at most.i hope some of their players get injured in the lead up. or at least they get worn down by the young thunder. don't like the mu with the heat at all. lbj/dw will need 60-70 points every game to beat them. celtics actually look dangerous vs the heat, but I think the heat believe they should beat them which will be good.

You certainly fit my perception of a Heat fan.

Avery Bradley being hurt along with Ray Allen means they lose the only 2 decent chances they had of containing Wade and Lebron. Sorry. Ray Allen was going to contain Wade or Lebron? Bradley will be great on Wade. I'm sure he will be playing by then. As far as LBJ goes, we don't really have a guy for him. Then again, nobody on the planet does.

And Ray Allen has good size on Wade, if it wasnt for the obvious age disparity, it would be a legitimate match-up.

How about Psycho-T? his flag 1 upgraded to flag 2 I didnt see the game itself but I saw the clips and I have no issue with the suspensions. While Hansbourgh's was a hard foul there was a legitimate play at the ball as well. Haslem's foul was a basketball move (kind of) BUT it was an obvious retaliation shot. Thats something that will almost always move a punishment up the scale. Pittman's foul really has no place in basketball and the wink afterwards sunk him. I am actually surprised the ref's didn't give him (Pittman) a flagrant 2 right then. I understand why Haslem did what what he did (standing up for your teammate), but even he had to realize that he was risking a suspension by taking the shot he did.

Hes pretty consistent with containing him. On another note, go Thunder.

Personally, I think Ibaka and Paul are there because they lead the league in their respective defensive stats, i.e. BLKs and STLs. It's not an accurate measure of defensive ability in my opinion, but it makes sense that the league would feature the league leaders in those stats for this kind of thing since it doesn't officially track any other defensive statistics. Even as a Lakers fan, I find it mind-boggling that Kobe is on either team this season. I thought this one would be the one where they finally left him off of it, but I guess not. Even more egregious because they left off Iguodala, who is a ridiculously good defender. Bogut led the league in Blocks last year and received ONE vote for the all NBA defensive teams. The voting is stupid, arbitrary and doesn't reflect a lot of the league's best defensive players. edit: I'll be a big Bucks homer here. Last year we were terrible, like most years, but had one of the best defensive teams in the NBA. The fourth best in terms of defensive efficiency. Unfortunately we also were officially the worst NBA team on the offensive side of things. But in terms of D, the Bucks were really strong. All that garnered though was 2 votes for Moute and 1 vote for Bogut in the all defensive teams. As people have said, these votes are dumb popularity contests. You either have to be a) a big name player, b)in a large market or c) have an inflated reputation of being an elite defender (usually brought on by a) and/or b)). At the end of the day, the awards are fairly banal but it really does reinforce the biases that exist in the NBA if you're not a somebody with mainstream media exposure.
