Savior already got his punishment. He got banned for life from pro BW/SC2 but he can play amateur BW/SC2 and stream it whenever he likes. I dont get it why he has to apologize for it.

Nothing can warrant that kind of reaction unless Savior actually raped his children and killed them. Child molestation is worse than fixing games. Call me crazy, but that's my opinion.

How can you even compare what Savior did to the sexual abuse of a child? I realize he said these things out of anger, but... throwing a teenage temper tantrum online is supposed to be good for e-sports how? Yes he apologized but even with that apology thousands of people have now seen him behaving like an idiot. He's a coach of one of the most significant teams in e-sports history. He should know better. It's not supposed to be good, but I'm sure he knows more than anyone else how stupid that was, so no need to keep reinforcing the same thing over and over. Just accept his apology and move on. Personally I'm sure he's gonna be a lot more careful from now on. This reminds me of how people picked on Incontrol and didn't accept his apologize.

That's why it's important to choose your words and actions carefully. I don't know if this will affect his employment, but as a representative of a major organization he could have quickly found himself out of a job for this kind of thoughtless public comment. Yeah, people aren't obligated to accept his apology, but as TTT says, how can a lot of people forgive a major player who threatened a very fragile industry and brought a lot of players with him and denied what he did for a very long time, and not forgive a coach who posted a 2 line rant on twitter about said player and then apologizing soon after? It just doesn't make any sense.

So you suggest that the coach is banned from BW and gets probation for posting a 2 line twitter rant and apologizing soon after or something? How is that even comparable to what Savior did? I don't agree with not letting Savior play BW for fun and all, but this is just pretty ridiculous. Do you also want Incontrol banned/punished for that stream or Demuslim banned for going out to drink?

Xeris didn't really seem to have a definitive answer but tentatively it seems they "won't allow convicted felons". I don't really know what to think about Savior, to be perfectly honest. I came into the BW scene only in, like, November, but it feels difficult for me to take seriously the idea that someone who organizes cheating in a competition like this is just human scum. I don't think he should be able to compete anymore, obviously, but I don't see the big deal about him being streamed on Afreeca or anything. I suspect I don't understand the reaction here because it was such a short time ago that this stuff happened and emotions are still running high. Agreed. On one hand, he should be barred from competitions for the sake of upholding high standards of competition and sportsmanship, which he had completely broken after the match-fixing scandal. It would probably do more harm than good for competitions like NASL to get involved in a PR scandal by including Savior and other match-fixers in their tournaments. On the other hand, I think Savior should at least be respected as a person despite the scandal. He had fallen from one of the best in his career field to not even being allowed to have that career anymore, and I think that probably annihilated his ego and aspirations. Right now, he is probably just an ordinary Korean trying to scrape by with an alternative job while serving his sentence and trying to enjoy the only remnant of his past life, Starcraft. If you meet him on the street, I don't think it's wise or respectful to start shouting slurs or insults at him considering the condition that hes in. He probably just wants to be left alone, quietly scraping by on a low end job while playing Starcraft like any other Korean.

I know (and hoped really) that you didn't mean that, but then what do you mean? I can't think of anything really. You won't forgive someone because apparently the only way for someone to have a chance to be forgiven is to pay for it. So how should he pay for a tweet? What do you suggest? Or you don't mean any of that? If so, then please explain. And don't go around assuming people are trolls just because you think everything you say makes perfect sense.

I'm not sure if anyone can comprehend another person spitting over something you've invested years of your life to furthering, but maybe you should get some perspective before calling Savior the victim here. I doubt there's a person here who hasn't said something they instantly regretted out of anger, and yet they can't empathize Jihoon and instead champion someone who cheats at something we love for money. The duality in this thread bothers me, empathy for the wrong person. What? Savior didn't do anything recently, all he did was stream some games and people found out. KT's coach is the one who exploded as a result. Yeah of course Savior screwed up 10000x worse than Coach Lee's spur of the moment anger but the reason why people are defending him right now is because he didn't do anything right now. It's not like Savior made a big deal out of streaming and is lobbying to get back into BW ... he was just playing some games and it all blew up. Last time I checked he got banned from pro BW, not from playing BW entirely. The coach is the one who took nothing and turned it into something, not Savior. Obviously anyone halfway reasonable thinks that what Savior actually did was incomparably worse than Coach Lee's slip. As a side note, you'd hope that anyone halfway reasonable would realize that something like child molestation is incomparably worse than what Savior did....

I take issue with people taking this comment and using it as some sort of jumping point for the glorious redemption of Savior or some shit. You know how everyone is saying how what Savior did is nothing compared to child molestation? Well what Jihoon has done is absolutely nothing compared to what Savior did, so stop trying to justify Savior and demonize Jihoon at the same time. I don't agree with what the KT coach said, but that shoudl have nothing to do with trying to bring Savior back.

It's not that people are forgiving Savior for his past actions. It's that people are feeling sympathetic for him because he didn't do anything to provoke the coach.

And yes, I get it, what the KT coach did is wrong. I agree. I have never said otherwise, I just don't think it's a big deal because he was mad and obviously didn't mean it -- something everyone in the world with a heartbeat has been folly to. I think it's a big deal for people to suddenly start saying savior should come back to esports after the KT coach's gaffe.
