This. What Savior did was horrible, but that doesn't mean a COACH, someone who should be mature and respectable, can get away with saying something like that. Its part of his duty as both an adult, and as the coach of his team to show maturity, no matter how his internal emotions may toil.

For God's sake Savior. Why is he apologizing? There is nothing wrong with playing Brood War and streaming some games.

Some people just don't believe that reconciliation and catharsis exist.

Betting is pretty illegal in Korea, but Savior should get a second chance (well, if he moves on to SC2, he will, since that's not run by KeSPA )

Did you read the entire first post? I'm just wondering, because the coach immediately apologized for his statement. He didn't hurt anyone and apologized for his mistake, yet people are defending Savior who is the exact opposite of that? A lying scumbag who hurt the entire industry and took forever to apologize? It's ass backwards. I'm not condoning what the coach said, but atleast he has the sense to apologize for something.

Does anyone have any information if any of those involved in the match-fixing scandal are willing to compete in NASL?
They're banned from GOM, but that doesn't stop me hoping to see UpMagic again...

But not Savior, he sould be banned for being a bad boy

This was asked quite recently in the NASL Q&A thread. Xeris didn't really seem to have a definitive answer but tentatively it seems they "won't allow convicted felons".

I don't really know what to think about Savior, to be perfectly honest. I came into the BW scene only in, like, November, but it feels difficult for me to take seriously the idea that someone who organizes cheating in a competition like this is just human scum. I don't think he should be able to compete anymore, obviously, but I don't see the big deal about him being streamed on Afreeca or anything. I suspect I don't understand the reaction here because it was such a short time ago that this stuff happened and emotions are still running high.

I'm pretty sure he did offend many people who were victims of child molest, cause those victims would believe the molesters to be one of the evilest, yet the coach says something half-assed like match fixing is comparable to molesting (which is complete BS and underestimates the severity of molest).

There's no reasoning with you if you don't see the absolutely massive gap in morality between the coach making an unthoughtful statement and Savior's deplorable actions. There's an insane disparity between offending someone and apologizing and putting hundreds of people's jobs at risk because you wanted money.

Yes we know what savior did was wrong, but that has no influence on how right or wrong the coach's statement is. Its just plain out of line. Him appologizing might make me think differently about who he is as a person, but im not concerned about that, never have been, just what he said.

The coach was out of line. If he wanted to call Savior out, I'd have no problem with that, but the manner in which he did so was absurd. How can you even compare what Savior did to the sexual abuse of a child?

I realize he said these things out of anger, but... throwing a teenage temper tantrum online is supposed to be good for e-sports how? Yes he apologized but even with that apology thousands of people have now seen him behaving like an idiot. He's a coach of one of the most significant teams in e-sports history. He should know better.

I'd say the coach crossed the line there. Savior is already banned for life from professional Brood War (and from the looks of it, SC2 as well). Even with those punishments, he shouldn't be banned from playing the game. If he ladders on his own time and streams it, then let him do it. It's not like he can cheat anything from just laddering.

Savior was already convicted and received his sentence for his crimes to Brood War. There's no need to go on further about him.
It takes an idiot to do cool things.

No one is defending Savior here. Regardless of what Savior had done (unless he actually did molest a child), the coach comment was highly inappropriate, immature and way out of line. Yea it could be due to his anger and whatnot and he did indeed apologize afterward but that doesn't mean what he said should be considered okay.

It's like saying all the shits you want to a person, and ended with "no offense" lol

They are defending savior in the sense that he has every right to play the game. For THIS and only this scenario, he is innocent.
