As for being hot. Flash is currently 2300+ in all matchups, whereas no one else is above 2300 in any matchup.

Indeed it would. On that note, Violet mentioned in his TL interview that he knows of this site and visits from time to time.
If the results of the remaining games in January are even more confounding, putting Violet first wouldn't be such a bad easy-way-out in my mind. After all, if Sea can make it for having a "powerful heart" too, Violet might have a shot.

After all, if Sea can make it for having a "powerful heart" too, Violet might have a shot. Reading that PR, it's funny how some things haven't changed in 2.5 years:
On Jaedong:
There's been whispers here and there in gutters and back alleys that Jaedong isn't quite what he used to be. Well citizens, there's a reason those opinions are found in the sewers and backstreets: they're completely unfounded.
On Flash:
While he has technically been overthrown from the top spot on this ranking, he's certainly still the Flash we've grown accustomed to.
On Kal:
Kal is hangin' around. He doesn't seem to be a one-hit wonder as many (myself included) suspected he might be after he was outclassed by Jaedong an MSL past. He's still one of the better players out there, teetering on the verge of S class. There isn't a whole lot to say about Kal, and there won't be until he does something impressive or unexpected. Until then, he'll cruise the middle of the PR

I would support Violet for #1.
Hey, and there's even precedent for this.
Truthfully, of all the candidates, Jaedong is grudgingly probably the best for #1. Has he been tearing everything up? No, but he's a big favorite for the MSL, and he's been doing well enough in WL.
But then again, I keep going back and forth in my mind. Is being a favorite in a whittled down tournament of upset zergs entitle you to anything?
I still wonder if we're too quick to throw away Stork for #1. Finals in OSL, Ro8 in MSL, superb record in WL. Sure, he imploded in the last week, but most guys didn't even have the opportunity to implode.
Some people go by the standard of "Who, by theory, is the best player in the world?" for power rank. And if that is the criteria, Flash is clearly the answer and he should've been #1 this month too, but that's not the standard I've ever used before personally, so I wouldn't put him as #1 myself.
I guess what I'm saying is, I don't have any idea who should be #1.

What if Stork All-Kills in a few hours =P

Thank you for agreeing that the definition of "power" was changed arbitrarily for that ranking to show good will, appreciation, and support for a certain player despite their real results and "power." I'm glad you're on board with me.

I think the shoutouts were a pretty good idea and that the PR should keep the shoutouts section.

Obviously he's still very strong, probably the best, but Elo can be a poor measure of how well a player is doing. If Flash maintains a ~90% winrate in PL over the next 5 years but bombs out of every SL early he'd be by far #1 Elo, maybe 100-200 points ahead of the rest, but I wouldn't consider him a top player (strong yes, but not top). Not all games are equal. Of course that hypothetical is highly unlikely and he showed in 2010 that he can destroy StarLeagues like no other. Just saying, Elo has its flaws when judging how hot a player is.
As for your other post, the real problem I have with your argument is that you seem to discount the number of games played almost entirely. I've never been a fan of that because we've seen time and again that it becomes very hard to maintain high win percentages when you play a lot of games. For the record, number of games played: 22 Stork 19 Fantasy 16 Bisu 16 Jaedong 10 Flash
Stork/Fantasy played about twice as many games as Flash, and Bisu/Jaedong played 60% more games (so far). In fact, all of them have more wins than Flash (and yes, more losses also). If it were Sea with this record over the last two months he'd be probably be around 6-7 place, given how much has been going on this month. Since it is Flash, and we know from 2010 that he can perform (unlike Sea) he should be given the benefit of the doubt, but place 1-2? Come on. It's disingenuous to focus on the fact that he has only one loss, is almost undefeated, etc... without mentioning the fact that he's played far fewer games than the others.

You'd think if it happened to you once, you wouldn't let it happen again.
Starleague finals are a different game than anything else in starcraft, a fact that has just been proved once again.

in my eyes the only significant achievement of stork this month is denying bisu from his 4th msl

I actually don't think its such a good idea. A big shoutout, and a deserved position on the PR/cnbc (depending on flamewheel's criteria) is better than a #1 pity ranking, and this is coming from a huge Violet fan.

Only thing zergs have in their favor is Zerg's Peak the Imbalanced.

Only thing zergs have in their favor is Zerg's Peak the Imbalanced. And we all know that ProLeague = StarLeague, right? Except it doesn't. One game in PL is pretty irrelevant. Jaedong is 0-6 vs Stork in ProLeague and has beaten him in every BoX that they've had. Protoss have a winning record against Zerg in ProLeague right now, yet all 3 PvZ's in the MSL quarters ended in the Zergs winning. Bisu would have had a really good shot at winning for sure, he's a big favourite over Great, somewhat favoured over ZerO (though ZerO played fantastic and certainly could beat Bisu) and would be 50-50 against Jaedong (in a Bo5) IMO (somewhat depending on map order). I'd have given him a really good chance of winning but don't pretend it would have been a walk in the park for him.

Yeah - as long as Bisu a) doesn't pick the group himself and b) doesn't play ZerO he's fine against Zerg.
Oh, wait. Still, if he'd beaten Stork and then ZerO, he's a huge favorite against great and probably on even footing with Jaedong right now. So sure. If Bisu hadn't been knocked out two rounds ago, he'd be the favorite to win the MSL.

Musoeun, I have a strong feeling that the only reason Flash got knocked out was because he didn't reach as high as Ro8. Once the Bo5's start he's not very likely to go down before the finals.
yes that seems logical. its also logical to assume that Flash would have greater chance of getting knocked out as he reached RO8 or greater because tougher opponents are found in RO8 than RO16
I'm amazed how much Flash bias is in your post. But make no mistake, I actually agree that Flash may be the greatest player - from a different reasoning though. Flash is Terran, thus he will always be better than the best Zerg player (JD) or the greatest Protoss player
