It's a conscious reminder every time I make a movement that I worked my ass off yesterday. It unfortunately doesn't happen unless I slip up/have finals/get sick or whatever and miss a week or more at the gym. So it's a motivator in that I love it, but also a motivator in that it reminds me I could be ahead of where I am right now.

I know that I'm going to come across as a vain asshole saying this, but I was happy with what I saw. 10% body fat incoming. Alright, rain or shine, I am going to take progress pictures at the end of this month and post them here. Just another motivator for me to stick to paleo and work hard in the gym.

It's always awesome that first time you look in the mirror and smile. I'm not sure exactly when it happened but i've gone from like 20 to 15 a couple times and then finally went from 15-10 over the summer and was just like "wtf when did that happen" On January 07 2011 13:50 ShaLLoW[baY] wrote: The sorest my traps have ever been was after my first workout power cleaning with proper form :p Yeah my traps have been sore as lot since i started oly lifting On January 07 2011 13:36 phyre112 wrote: When I first started lifting this wasn't true, but since then I've come to love the feeling of being sore the next day. But now it just pisses me off because that means i cant lift heavy multiple days in a row On January 07 2011 11:20 AoN.DimSum wrote: @neco and decaf, start doing cleans from the high hang (above mid thigh) This will force you to engage your traps instead of your arms. http://www.californiastrength.com/olwete.html watch the videos!!!! There is also flexibility exercises for getting your elbows up neco. Just remember to drive your elbows up at the catch. Fast rack position = better ability to catch heavy weights Will try this tomorrow! My arm flexibility is getting like a million times better thank god Omg so many videos T_T Make me watch these things like 2 months ago dimsum :-p Watching all of these!

90kg squat (second increase after reset from ~105kg to 80kg) 47.5kg press (first increase after reset from ~50kg to 42.5kg) Pullups Instead of power cleans, I'll probably do some clean practice as well based on the videos DimSum linked. It sucks that there are no experienced people around my gyms to guide me on the harder lifts. Anyway, can't wait. edit: p.s. DimSum, teleport to Finland kthx.

Deadlift: 102.5kg x 20 (lol) Good Morning: 5 sets of 50kg x 10 (focusing on stretch, low weight) Pullups: 3 sets of BW x 5 (hate those so much...) BB Row: 3 sets of 70kg x 6 (strict form) Pulldowns: 8pl x 10, 10pl x 10 and 12pl x 10 (testing out the lat pulldown machine, the last set was the only one I had to put any effort into)

Alright today's workout: Squat: 235lbs x 3 x 5 - personal best and I'm really feeling a lot more comfortable with my form. I still need to set a video up though and have ya'll critique. Bench: 190 x 3 x 5 - just missed the last 2 reps on my last set, spotter had to help me a bit. Dead lift: 275 x 1 x 5 - god i love dead lift lol, i actually think i could do a bit more, but i wanna keep goin up steadily every workout. Overall felt really good about this workout, im sooo pumped, can't wait to see how much i gain after like 5 or 6 weeks of this.

I could of course be totally wrong. Edit: 5th training session for the year today, had shoulders and another spin class. I am impossibly drained. If I'm not sporting 8-10% body fat by march I'll be a little bit upset at myself.
