SC and now SC2 are stressful games that take a massive toll on a persons patience and mind if they are trying to learn or outplay a seemingly impossible to beat opponent. Posting a bunch of unfunny quotes from people and laughing at them when they are in that state of mind is practically no different than laughing at people for not wanting to touch a burning hot stove. Its normal and human to rage over losses in a game like this. In these peoples minds Zerg really IS OP. Or for the next guy he truly believes that Terran is OP. I dont see the humor in upsetting people. None of these quotes are even funny. If someone is facing what they believe in their mind to be "the impossible" and then failing over and over for reasons they dont understand and cant seem to figure out, anger is 100 percent normal and natural response. To not feel that would be inhuman. I think that people feel more satisfaction than they should from getting these responses from people. It seems to me like the winners of these games equate the losers rage to a heightened amount of dominance, when really, you could just be going around choosing random and 6 pooling people over and over until you catch someone whos already in a bad mood, then screen cap their BM. It wouldnt really mean you are some kind of super badass player leaving nerds in your wake with your extreme skill. Hell, most of these wins are probably half luck, or the losing player actually is better than the person who ended up winning. But hey, if people want to continue to create a meal out of their tiny victories then no one really stop them. All i can say is, yeh, maybe there is something to people who rage over a loss, but screen capping it when it isnt even that funny and posting it on a forum isnt a whole lot more dignified in my eyes. Everybody gets mad. It is natural to get mad yes, but if you take the following situation into consideration: You punch two random people in the face. Person 1's response: They get angry and punch you back. Person 2's response: They are socked and simply wonder why that happened. They wonder what they did to you and immediately feel sorry, thinking they were in the wrong. These are two very plausible responses to this action. Therefore one action, that is identical, has a different affect on two different people. This shows that the action itself is the stimuli of the emotion but the decision about how to react to it is in the hands of the person who got punched. Arguing that that decision is reactionary and primal would yield a correct analysis. However, those primal reactions CAN be overcome so to use this as an excuse would not answer the question of where anger comes from. It is in each one of us to decide how to react to the stimuli we take in. To suggest one is inhumane because of their reaction is to be ignorant of the human psyche and the power of emotional control. We are all possible of controlling our emotions and as respectable humans we should learn to do exactly that. Weather or not sharing these reactions when the players, in this case, are in a altered state of mind as you suggest is kind or right? I think that an objective mind can see that it is neither.

Fairly standard ZvZ, in the end my Roaches and Hydras overwhelmed his Roaches and Zerglings, then just as he leaves he decides to make a parting shot at my skill: I don't think much of it, until I get matched up with him again immediately afterwards. I had a feeling that he might try some sort of cheese in order to prove how n00b I was, so I decided to pre-empt any such tactics by doing my first ever 6pool. It worked perfectly and I very nearly killed him, but since there were some lings hatching I left and went back to making a base. Lots of back-and-forth action after that, I was too busy making trollfaces to use proper strategies, but in the end he hits mutas and I wipe out his base with lings while they're out harassing me. So we have these:

Everybody gets mad. Getting mad is normal. Freaking out and hurling insults at your opponent is not. I've been mad pleanty of times at the game, but the worst I've ever said is "BG" (bad game) instead of "GG". I've never told my opponent I wished he was dead etc. That is not normal or acceptable behaviour and excusing it by saying they were mad doesn't change that.

"you got no skill" "just building marines and tanks, omg" "god you're so bad, you let me snipe 2 ravens and a medivac on the way" blah blah blah Ya, I did let him snipe 2 ravens and a medivac. BECAUSE I HAD FUCKING WON THE GAME. It's pretty standard trashtalk, but for me this is the worst/funniest kind of BM because it's so utterly retarded. You lose a game because you fucked up and then try to tell your opponent that he sucks, etc. and pick one meaningless mistake to base that assumption on :> If people feel something is imbalanced, I can remotely understand the rage. It's just plain stupid though to point out your opponent's weak play // unit composition when you just lost the game. If anything, you should trash talk yourself for being so bad as to lose to such a strategy/unit mix if you think it's so weak. That's what I do occasionally btw. like "GG, can't believe I lost to that" which in other words means "Can't believe I fucked up so bad this game"
