I think that people feel more satisfaction than they should from getting these responses from people. It seems to me like the winners of these games equate the losers rage to a heightened amount of dominance, when really, you could just be going around choosing random and 6 pooling people over and over until you catch someone whos already in a bad mood, then screen cap their BM. It wouldnt really mean you are some kind of super badass player leaving nerds in your wake with your extreme skill. Hell, most of these wins are probably half luck, or the losing player actually is better than the person who ended up winning. But hey, if people want to continue to create a meal out of their tiny victories then no one really stop them. All i can say is, yeh, maybe there is something to people who rage over a loss, but screen capping it when it isnt even that funny and posting it on a forum isnt a whole lot more dignified in my eyes. Everybody gets mad. | ||

I used to play chess in a coffee house, people got upset when they lost, no one ever once went into some kind bizarre rage in person. The bad manners in this thread aren't normal or acceptable ways to talk to other people outside the wonderful world of the internet anonymity shield. I'm not going to give people a free pass because starcraft 2 is a stressful game. I'm with you on the rest of what you said entirely. I don't see making someone rage as a special victory or a sign that you played well. I'm just all for derision being heaped on people who act like massive jerks because they don't have to deal with the other person again. Heck, the funniest* rage I've received recently was from someone who beat me. He literally went on for about 2 minutes about how "that's what you get for muta &^%$ noob" on and on and on. I stuck around for the whole monologue. *To me it's funny, I apologize if you don't see humor in people flying off the handle the way I do. | ||

I dont see the humor in upsetting people. None of these quotes are even funny. If someone is facing what they believe in their mind to be "the impossible" and then failing over and over for reasons they dont understand and cant seem to figure out, anger is 100 percent normal and natural response. To not feel that would be inhuman. ... Everybody gets mad. Yes, I sometimes get angry when I lose. But I don't call my opponents "fucking hacker" or "no skill rusher fag". I gg (or not, depending on how upset with myself I am), and quit the game. If someone is going to use the anonymity of the internet to tell someone that he wishes their mother would die of cancer, I don't see why we should feel any sympathy for them. And I disagree, I think some of these rages are hilarious. | ||

that being said, rage happens. but if I saw someone post a pic of me raging in this thread and everyone laughed at it? oh well. it was a moment of weakness and I feel silly about it after as well. why shouldn't everyone else? | ||

While playing through the practise league I came up against a Zerg player while playing Terran (Terran=Love) on novice Jungle Basin, I think it was. I was trying to do a game using as little gas as possible so naturally I was pumping out Mariners and Hellions from reactored barracks/factories. I broke down my rocks very early and around the ten minute mark I headed over to his base with about 120 food worth of Mariners and Hellions and broke down his rocks. I ambled my Mariners through the rocks and at the very edge of my vision spotted a MASSIVE bunch of 'Lings just... sittin' there, chillin' (later found out there were 86 'Lings in the primary cluster, with a further 60 in reserve) so I turned them round and ran out past the rocks but hey... there's nothing following me. Maybe he just didn't notice? Hehe. So I sent in the Hellions and sent out a burst of flame, which got the 'Lings following them whereupon I retreated back to the choke and set up a wall with my Hellions backed up by Mariners and promptly toasted all 140 Zerglings without losing any Mariners. After that it was just mopup and just as I killed his hatch he popped in the "WTF?" If you'll insist on making nothing but 'Lings and then not do anything with them they're gonna get raped by Hellions in a chokepoint. | ||

I win out-mutaing him I even got corruptors (rofl) and he copied that, he had superior numbers and kept running, i got free kills as he tailed each time, then he went hydras, easily died to my superior numbers at that point, and spines didn't help him! Then he bms out "You're a f** idiot" and leaves. lol. I was like wtf and laughed as usual. I always laugh when they Q_Q bm out. | ||
