Seriously they CANT understand how to copy/paste something. This is so frustrating. They also need ~ 30 minutes to send a mail. The worst thing is that they don't even try to improve. I try to explain but they always forget and when they can't do something they call me >.< My dad has to write on a paper how to copy photos from a Flash card to the hard drive. And even with his paper he can't do it alone lol.

Ok so I work retail at a big electronic store, I work in the computer department. On a daily basis I get asked these stupid questions that even my grandma knows. Sometimes I will break it down (I love doing this to people who want to learn) other times I just facepalm. Here are just some examples of what customers ask me (feel free to laugh.) "Where does the ram go? In the computer, or in a flash drive?" (Guy comes up to me with 2 boxes, a 320gb WD green, and a 1TB Seagate Barracuda) "What the difference between these 2?" (Me talking with a customer about a laptop that would be good for her, I start to explain the benefits of having an i3 over a Pentium dual core, her husband approaches.) "How much ram does the i3 have?" (Customer comes up to me and tells me she needs help finding a Hard Drive. I show her a 2.5" laptop drive. She says "It's bigger than that". I grab a 3.5 inch drive for a desktop. She says "No it's a lot bigger than that." Turns out she wanted the whole tower.) My response: facepalm (Customer comes up to me and says "I need ROM". I take him to the external and internal CD/DVD rom drives. He says "No, the sticks". I said "Oh, RAM. What kind do you need?" His response: "You tell me.") (Customer of Indian decent approaches me. "Pull off the laptop and this laptop and get them both down for me. I'm going to go get my iPhone 4 and come back. Don't waste my time, have them ready." Yeah, I'm going to pull down 2 laptops so you can decide between the two when they already are on display, and risk the chance of someone stealing them.) My response: Sorry, they are both out of stock. (Customer approaches me with his wife looking for a laptop. I start going over all the services we offer, starting with the PC set up. I move on to the Warranty information) "Too many decisions, we will go elsewhere." These are just some of the scenarios that have happened to me in the past week or so. Let me know if they are funny or just complete fail. This made my day XDDDD 5/5 =)

Leave it to Teamliquid to call you a bad salesman, question whether or not you are racist, and claim you may have a superiority complex that you do not deserve because you do not know quantum physics.

Lol you sound unsocial, how bout you learn to tolerate people more? If they need help, help them, or are they just too inferior for you to help them? Too many people on this site are elitists -_-

I am also very thankful I don't have to respond to people quoting me who seem to have a slight anger problem and who might take this topic very personally given the rage and dedication being shown. I hate people as well. and lol @ people getting butthurt. People can't read.

I know many people who just check their e-mail/facebook and just log off. Your job is to help people and you're over here making fun of them... really? I'm suprised most of the posters in this thread are laughing with you. Lol you sound unsocial, how bout you learn to tolerate people more? If they need help, help them, or are they just too inferior for you to help them? Too many people on this site are elitists -_- So he is anti-social.. But your not, coming into a blog, insulting two people right off the bad, and then claiming that there are too many elitists here? Try not to throw stones when you live in a glass house.. On topic, I think it's pretty funny! However, I have seen my mom ask bestbuy computer salesmen questions that they stumbled over responding, at which point we just turned to newegg for computer equipment.

To be honest it's not really the users fault, working in a helpdesk myself i've found alot of people don't want to look stupid in front of the IT guy so they'll try and improvise and hope they're correct, we get alot of people who call the entire computer the hard drive or not even know what the monitor/screen is, I agree with the OP that they can be hilarious but I think people are far too judging with the LOL you don't know everything about everything, nub !!! You've just gotta laugh in your head and help them out to the best of your abilities.
