World of Tanks
Always wanted to drive mighty WW2 era tanks in battle in a nice multiplayer environment ?
This is the game you need.
Includes currently tanks from 4 nations : Germany, USSR, USA and France, and the Brits are coming very soon.
Dozens of different tanks, respectful of the real historic models.
Skill-based game, with a lot of grind though, as there is a system with experience and credits to be able to buy new tanks or upgrade the ones you have. It is playable casually, you just won't have new tanks/upgrades as fast.
The game is a bit of a mix between the arcade style Battlefield-type tank driving and the realistic-style Flashpoint-type. The tank is pretty easy to control and there aren't a lot of keys, but then, being useful in a tank is another story : attacking the front of a Tiger with a 75mm cannon is pretty much useless. Better take out his tracks and try to hit the rear of the turret where its armor is a its weakest. There are lots of stuff that can be damaged on a tank if you aim well : tracks, engine, turret, cannon, radio, and some more.
There are different types of tanks that require different type of gamestyle. There is about a hundred different tanks currently in the game, each with their different equipment possible. There really is a lot of possibilities.
Oh and I forgot : it's free !
Come and try it out. ^^

Because I'm pretty sure everyone here will agree that tanks are awesome, I'd like to talk about a game I'm playing for a few weeks now : World of Tanks !
The game is currently in closed beta but everyone I know who tried to join it got their key a couple of days after they applied. Plus, there are like community websites and such who are giving away tons of keys.

There are currently 5 types of tanks :
- Light tanks, who's role is mostly to scout and take out artillery. They are fast and pretty weak, so the best light tank drivers have become experts at full-speed maneuvering and dodging.
- Medium tanks who are still pretty fast but still can't really engage heavies one-on-one. They'll usually try to destroy other medium tanks, and try to get a view on the rear armor of heavies, where they can actually do some damage, before retreating quickly to not get caught by other heavy enemy stuff.
- Heavy tanks, who are slow, and have big cannons.
- Tank Destroyers don't have a turret so they'll have to turn their whole body in order to aim at the enemy. Because of that, taking out their tracks first is the best way to approach them. If you don't, well ... One shot of those can do some serious damage. Even to heavies.
- Artillery, who specialize in shooting across the map. If they have targets to shoot at (ie. if Lights did their job properly).
There's currently only two tech trees available : German and Soviet, but they are planning on having an American one as well for the release. Still, there's already like 40 or 50 different tanks total. T34, Panther, Tiger, Ferdinand, Su-85, Hummel ....
Even the powerful Mous is in there. Yup.
I'm currently driving a Panzer III/IV, aiming to get the Panther.
Anyway, you really should check it out. ^^
