"no state shall ... deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws". Is a summary of the stated clause. This particular case of TeamLiquid v. T Dot Crazy is similar to Missouri ex rel. Gaines v. Canada where a black student applied to a previously all white university and was denied because of his race. The statements concerning ratio do not have any bearing on this case since he was denied based solely on his sex.

In TeamLiquid University v T. Dot Crazy, TeamLiquid would not be held accountable for the rejection of T. Dot Crazy regardless of motives. TeamLiquid University is a private institution and is thus not responsible for upholding the Equal Protection Clause as that is an extension of the bill of right's federal power to the states. Furthemore, the Equal Protection Clause relates to individuals whom are regarded as unable to obtain position due to race or creed, being a male, which TeamLiquid University admits seventy percent of their population, does not violate this test. Rather, the individual T. Dot Crazy is able to sue on the grounds of affirmative action for the female race, but in recent court rulings, affirmative action has been deemed constitutional.
