It was a straight-up build order loss, If you go 3 hatch and then sunks you cant defend a 3d base against a terran strategy that was made specifficaly to deny a 3d base, The game was over when jaedong had to cancel his 3d base for the first time, the rest of it he played while seriously behind and thats why it looked so onesided, the match doesn't mean very much and is not indicative of anything(excpet that flash makes very few mistakes), If flash wins the next game in simillarly dominant fashion then i'm going to be impressed. For now it's just a well executed strategy against a tired-looking jaedong Well Jaedong is a complete dumbass then for using a build that would net him a BO loss against the best TvZer who has been using the exact same strategy and pretty much the same build since the start of R1 proleague.

I'm not one of those asshole's who will give you shit for cheering on your favorite video-gamer. That's totally cool, if that's what you're into. However, the OP is taking his level of emotional involvement to a point beyond that of even the players themselves. That shit is frightening. Tone it down. I personally dont see them as just "video-gamers". They sacrifice a big part of their life to practice Starcraft which definitely requires enormous amount of determination. I dont understand why would you be against perceiving them as athletes and cheering for them like fans of other sports do.

I almost didn't feel like continuing to watch the OSL games because of how bad I felt for Jaedong, but good thing I didn't stop because Calm and Movie cheered me up

And he is playing really good starcraft recently. It is just that Flash right now is just playing unbelievable in two matchups. But winning streaks and phases of domination always end sometimes. Oovs TvZ streak ended, Flashs 26-2 run in early 2008 ended, Bests insane PvP-streak ended, JD is back to 75% ZvZ, etc. When you are watching Flash right now in TvZ and TvT, you can hardly imagine how he is going to lose with his build and decision-making ever again (besides getting raped in early-midgame like vs Hyun). But it will happen eventually. And I am sure JD will be right there waiting. But I've gotten off-track. Bottom line. Don't feel too bad for JD, he will push through.

Even if you consider it the equivalent of any sport, be it football or whatever it is, it is still extremely offputting. When someone becomes this emotionally involved in the performance of someone they don't know... that isn't a sign of a mentally healthy person. I enjoy watching football as well, but I don't become this upset when the team I am rooting for loses. I just watch it to enjoy myself. When someone takes it this far, it bothers me. People get upset, cry, and throw childish fits over their favorite team/player... seriously? Grow up. Posting shit like this thread makes TL look like it is full of children.

Anyways I always feel a little bad for Jaedong when he loses a big game because I know he practices his ass off for it. but when he wins you know he deserved it.

Both JD and Flash are extremely mechanically proficient players who rarely miss a beat and are immaculate or flawless in terms of ingame actions. I was excited for the OSL match between these titans of modern StarCraft, and subsequently disappointed by the length and leaning of their first game. As I viewed this thread I became really sad. I like the Jaedong vs Flash matchup and I appreciate and welcome discussion of it. I also consider myself a noob to TL having been posting here for barely a year and half. I feel that this OP could have contained insight into the JDvFlash rivalry. I also hoped that a thread with a topic so open to prolific discussion could contain some insight or perspective that I had not considered. It might have even contained something resembling proper capitalization. But when I clicked on it, you should have seen my face. I was so near to crying, I felt bad for ever clicking on this thread, and I started being angry for ever harboring the curiosity that led me to do so. When I see someone not using capitalization at all, I look at their nationality immediately. It usually prevents me from bringing up my inner pedantic raging.
