I checked if there was a blog on this topic, and I couldn't find one, so here it goes.
Basically I am sick of hearing about Starcraft 2. I really am not looking forward to when it comes out. Firstly, I really just dislike the graphics and game-style in general from what I have seen, it just looks so much like Warcraft 3, all of the units are so clunky and look alike, and the game-play looks so slow compared to Brood War. Not to mention some of the unit changes I am not too fond of.
Secondly, and mainly, I am not looking forward to what SC2 will do to Brood War. I really wouldn't mind the game if it is separate from Brood War,in fact I would probably even check it out when it does come out. However seeing things like mym dropping brood war and so many people talking about sc2 just makes me go "ugh". I really hope that it doesn't affect the foreigner Brood War scene (or the Korean scene for that matter) too much, because I just love SC1 too much.
Anyway, I am curious to see who is planning to stick with Brood war or switch over to SC2 once it comes out.
Poll: When SC2 comes out, will you stick with Brood War or switch over? (Vote): I will be playing SC2 for sure (Vote): I am sticking with Brood War, ty (Vote): I will try out SC2, and will make my decision from there

I have enjoyed every Blizzard RTS to date and there's no doubt in my mind Starcraft 2 will trump them all.
+ Show Spoiler +The gameplay is not slow compared to brood war. ><

How I'm the only person who voted for the last option thus far is beyond me, it's the only sensible one.
~My overall outlook on the game at this point is pretty negative though.

idk~ Blizzard's RTS have always been top of the line however SC2 is becoming more and more like WC3 Less importance on macro more on micro.. -.-

I am looking forward to Diablo 3.

I agree with you on many points and I hope that a lot of things in SC2 will be changed/fixed by the time it comes out.
Personally, I'm gonna have to see how things turn out and my situation before I buy SC2. I might be disinterested in games by the time it comes out or I might need to save my money for other things. However, I really do want to try it at least least a couple times with friends.

I'm gonna wait for my friend to buy it and then try it out at his house before spending any money.

It's not good to judge whether you like the game until you have the familiarity that comes from playing it for a few months. If you don't like the graphics, then look at other RTS's that you've never played and see how little you can tell what's going on. If you think the gameplay is slow, then look at BW replays of horrible newbies, cuz that's the only skill level that you've seen SC2 played at. If after the game has been released for a year and the graphics still annoy you and the pros are producing boring games, then you'll have a point.
If you're interested in e-sports, and being at tl.net ought to mean you are, then you should be excited for SC2. Its e-sports scene will be much better than that of BW. It'll be like BW e-sports scene + WC3 e-sports scene + much more.

nony is right. You can't really judge the game as being slow. You see it as slow because 1) your watching newbs and 2) you dont fully understand the game yet, therefore your mind can't comprehend what is really going on. When i first played starcraft, i didnt see it as the fast pace game that i see it as now.

all my friends and I have decided the day sc2 is released,
we wait 1 week for all the PC Bangs in toronto to get it, and we gogogogo
i'm not expecting much though.. x_x

I know what you mean, the game looks much slower since the graphics are actually.. nice. But who really cares about graphics. Gameplay over graphics.

I'm looking forward to the UMS of SC2 at least. You just know there will be a BW clone, among other things. The game itself will probably be pretty good too, worth the $60 at least.

Unless I can run SC2 with my current computer, I'm not investing money in a new rig.

There is no way all three are going to suck, and each one on its own will be worth the money SC2 costs .

try, if it is no good, NO.

The biggest reason I'm looking forward to sc2 is that it while the sc scene has always been fighting death since I got involved in it. The sc2 scene will be fresh and there will be actual interest in it besides the small pocket that still follows sc.
As for the game itself, I hope it's good, and although I don't particularly like the way it looks from the current videos I'm optimistic the final product will be able to live up to it's successor.

disappointment in starcraft 2 is inevitable. People wont be satisfied unless it cures at lease two types of cancer.
