But I'm willing to give it a chance- a REAL chance. I'll certianly buy the game a play a lot of it before I write it off.

You completely missed the point. Saying its slow has absolutely no meaning right now. Strong players from other games played Starcraft/Brood War when it was still in its beta stages as well. Watching games from that era, the gameplay is slow. Obviously, modern Brood War is not slow. Even for players that have experience with other games, it takes time to build up the familiarity and aptitude necessary to play at a good pace.

SC2 will be a bigger pro scene than BW.. anyone who thinks SC2 sucks, is just afraid of having to relearn all their builds. The game is looking amazing so far, regardless of "lesser skill" which is a retarded argument all in itself.

I hate the auto macro mining thing and secondly, I also don't appreciate what it will do to the current broodwar pro scene Just because something is newer does not always mean its better. People need to realize sometimes old games > new games.

I have too, a lot (+100 games) and I think it's not very much slower, a small bit maybe, but not very much more. Just do something about automine damnit

In any case, I'm not very excited about it either. However, whatever game I stick with will depend on the Korean pro scene. The existence and success of that is what's keeping me playing BW. If they do a full switch, unless SC2 is horrible, I will probably play SC2 a lot more than BW. But yeah...I'm very afraid of how SC2 will end up. The only thing I hope for is that it is as mechanically oriented as BW, and that its macro/micro balance is similar to BW as well. Aside from that, as long as the game itself is balanced, I don't mind so much.

And speaking of sc2 UMS, I get the feeling that there will be a SC2 version of dota. And then people will get sc2 only to play dota, just like what happened with wc3. Man, I'd hate it if that happened.
