Saves me from having to watch 10 years of games to find 2-3 real bangers (& I also don't agree pre 2017 level is equal to today's level, even though that might be unfounded personal bias). I can find the games myself if you can remember any specific ones, but if you have any links they are welcome of course! https://tl.net/forum/brood-war/556802-what-are-some-of-the-best-games-from-asl-ksl
Should've searched for this myself first lol. Some great games mentioned in there. Hero vs JyJ was a banger too for more recent times.
Just what I was looking for, thanks!

super easy to not care when you only care about seeing him play the video game

There are no angels on this planet, and Flash has not broken any laws. Otherwise I can assure you there would've been serious talks of a lawsuit. It's time to drop the matter. Flash has every right to return, and his haters need to accept that.

There are absolutely laws over promoting penny securities to uninformed investors so that you can dump your own holdings on them at a profit. Maybe not in his jurisdiction and maybe the regulatory framework is still catching up on crypto but the idea that pump and dump schemes are legally clear is just wrong.

Then someone should sue Flash. They're not doing it because they don't have a valid case against him. Judge would just throw it out.

I’m not an expert on the legal framework surrounding crypto pump and dump schemes in Korea and neither are you. I’m not involved in Flash’s legal defence and neither are you.
I simply object to the idea that 1. You’re qualified to assert whether he broke any laws 2. You’re informed about what cases are currently outstanding 3. Strict legality even matters here
If the US passes a law to make crypto pump and dumps as illegal as regular security ones but Korea doesn’t then that would make him a criminal in the eyes of the US legal framework and not a criminal in the eyes of the Korean one but it would change absolutely nothing about what he did.
If you want him back and don’t care what he did then just say that. Don’t resort to completely unsubstantiated claims about the legality or illegality of what he did based on your gut feeling.
|
We would've definitely heard about it if Flash was being dragged to court. What makes you think otherwise? I don't want Flash back because I think he's innocent, I want him back because I think it's always innocent until proven guilty. He's innocent. Until proven guilty.

His lawyers could exchange emails with lawyers representing the people he defrauded without you knowing about it. That’s entirely possible. Ultimately you and I don’t know anything about his legal situation, certainly not enough for you to proclaim a certainty that it was all entirely legal.
Do you think he didn’t participate in a crypto pump and dump scam?
I’m also confused by this idea that you’re literally incapable of holding an opinion unless that opinion has been issued by a judge. My opinion of you, based on many exchanges with you, is that you are a moron. A court hasn’t ruled that you’re guilty of being a moron but I’m still confident in holding that opinion of you. But presumably you could not express the opinion that I’m an asshole until a judge gives you permission.

everybody cool it. This thread is about Brood War, not the Korean legal system

I have an opinion on Flash: he's either innocent or he isn't. I have not seen sufficient evidence that he's guilty, therefore he's innocent. I'm not going with what the law would do just because I can't think for myself. I think that the law is right in that it's always innocent until proven guilty. Where is his guilt? I don't see it. Feel free to provide the evidence.

Why don't more Terrans get the vessel energy upgrade?
Zergs get the energy upgrade for defilers so they can plague and dark swarm Protosses get the energy upgrade for arbiters (sometimes) so they can recall and stasis They also get the energy upgrade for high templar so they can storm sooner (and three times later on).
Terrans seem to benefit if they can irradiate sooner. Yet most terrans lift their science facility as soon as the irradiate upgrade is done. Why is that?
|
because terrans continue vessel production and if you keep your vessels alive you have more than enough irradiates. the extra energy would be surplus to requirements
|
In TvZ terran have map control so they can move around looking for targets the whole time and try to use up vessel energy as much as possible. Zerg need defiler energy because defiler lifetimes are so short they need to consume and shoot out plague + swarm at the exact right time before some vessel comes and irradiates it. Protoss need templar energy because templar are slow and fragile and need to store up energy and then use it all before (usually) dying during a big battle.
|
It would be better to get the upgrade of course, because a situation could arise where a fresh vessel pops out and is the only one around and you really need an irradiate from it asap (for a defiler-attack at the natural or something). Or you end up with one full energy vessel somewhere and want to irradiate three ultras, but without the upgrade you only have energy for two.
But irradiate is rather cheap (energy-wise) and most of the time you end up with a cloud of vessels with more irradiates than you can use before they die anyway.
Also, temporarily, the 150/150 resources for the Titan Reactor might not be available to you right away, because exactly in that phase you are only on 2 base and have so many things to spend money/gas on that are more important (vessels, tanks, m&m, bio-upgrades, siege-mode or vulture-upgrades, additional barracks or starport or factories). Resources tend to drop all the way down to 0 again and again around that time (if one macroes correctly). So the energy upgrade is the last thing on a long list at that point, and might just be forgotten later because then you have enough vessels anyway.
It would be better to get it though, if you can afford the investment at some point (very likely) and plan to keep building vessels (very likely).
|
it’s a great upgrade. I think terrans just get away with irradiate being such a cheap spell and vessels being difficult to manage.
even vs protoss EMP is strong vs arbiters, but 150/150 can seem like a hard expense, especially on these maps with a mineral only third
