Then there is this terrible cinematic and those ugly screenshots. But tbh, I only really care about the gameplay. Back to wait&see status.

To me the stills looks more to WC3 hero stuff then Starcraft, so it does reduce my excitement a bit just personally, but I'll be keeping an eye out for sure. Edit: also a bit unsure after hearing Monk interview, obviously to each their own, but I do feel that almost all RTS in the last decade in a half seems to be developed against the backdrop of the "classic" or "standard" RTS, yet we never see those kind of game. I like my stupid RTS with two army headbutting each others. The difference between the factions sound very interesting though. Also, what's the budget on this thing exactly? I though it was relatively modest but with the trailer and the scope of the game Monk is talking about I have an impression its much more than I thought.

It isn't awful, it just doesn't really do its job for me. Art looks cool, but it gives me zero investment in the races or characters or conflict.

And if you compare this reveal trailer with the reveal trailers of WC3 or SC2...it just sucks. Never mind the gameplay, but nobody can tell me that this trailer alone ignites any excitement for the story.

Let's see what happens with the gameplay though.

It would be very difficult to make a 2 min trailer that truly amazes us after all these years. I think in fact that if we would now be shown the very first SC trailers, or be shown the campaign storyline, we would also say that it's generic and uninspiring. But I think it's us and our expectations that are off, not the game itself My biggest concern is with the camera height: at that level it will more likely be about microing a few hero units than it'll be about strategic positioning and control over larger armies. But let's see where they take this - looking forward to the beta!

They reached 30 Million USD of funding a while ago through their investors, which was their budget goal.
