If there are disagreements over anything going on with the event, discuss it,don't muck it up with memes and copypasta, this is a final warning we will start handing out bans from here on out. |

All you guys I ask this of you: Make this event memorable: do not go with the mentality of taking, give from the start from now: Jealous cannot handle everything, please everyone get more involved: do this for brrowar, for sc, for all your memories of the awesome time you all old schoolers and enlists felt back then: unconditional love, brotherhood, and community creating; or do this for me. Again I say: go beyond: go the extra mile. It will be worth it, and you will make all of us (including me) who cannot physically be there happy. This I ask of you. Thank you
You're right. I'll bring vodka.

Everyone who's going to NYC, check www.airbnb.com ffs!
You can rent an apartment together for one night and prolly get away with 10$ each. I use that all the time when going on short trips.
Just a tip for ya all! <3

I spoke with the manager of the venue and they said they don't want us to bring alcohol to the venue, but if you have it in a flask or something then I doubt anyone will mind or say anything. Just don't get obnoxious drunk - that seemed to be their biggest concern.
That vodka bottle WOULD be more welcome/timely at the KBBQ after the event. More details on that coming soon.

Yeah if I wouldve been able to come to NYC, I wouldve defenetely rent a flat near the event. You can find a decent apartment 3 days for the same prise as one night at hotel.

I would never even consider drinking outwardly at a spot like this lol and I agree obnoxious is a hell no. I take respect very seriously and I wouldn't disrespect myself, the people I'm with or the establishment I'm in by behaving irresponsibly.

Also, what if we actually are seeding based on MMR or whatever? Do you think lying about your max MMR was a good move? Do you think that will make us more or less likely to be nice to you?

I’m thinking a Faust vs. Nahyunjung in round 1 of the tourney. The two NYC lan juggernauts going at it to start the day.

I'm a lifelong new yorker and lived and worked in flushing for a long time.
Just wanted to say, if youre looking for a cheap place to stay, watch out for bedbugs. Bedbugs arent uncommon in NYC, and Flushing in particular since it's densely populated and full of immigrants. the competitively priced hotels in queens (and the bronx) like Ramada and Flushing Hotel are notorious for sometimes having bedbugs lol.
same goes for airbnbs.
chances are you wont run into them but just be alert

Official announcement #6!
1. We have received a $10 donation from an anonymous D rank Terran from California! He said that he hopes we run the best tournament ever, that Brood War is the best ever. We'll do our best!
This brings us to $560 + Buy-ins for the tour!
2. We have decided on two formats for the tournament.
Looking at the current number of sign-ups, it seems almost certain that we will have more than 32 players in the tournament. However, we want to be prepared for all possibilities; here are the 32-and-under and over 32 player formats:
+ Show Spoiler [32 and Under] +32 players and under format:
Bo3 MSL Groups. Both players veto two maps in turns. Rock-paper-scissors to determine veto order.
A: Player 1 <vs> Player 2 B: Player 3 <vs> Player 4 C: Winner A <vs> Winner B D: Loser A <vs> Loser B E: Loser C <vs> Winner D
Winner C: Seed 1 Winner E: Seed 2
If under 32 players, some groups will be Round Robin Bo3:
A: Player 1 vs. Player 2 B: Player 1 vs. Player 3 C: Player 2 vs. Player 3
Match wins -> Map wins = Seeding, to avoid tie-breakers. If tie-breakers are still needed (Player 1 2-0 Player 2, Player 2 2-0 Player 3, Player 3 2-0 Player 1, for example), Bo1 round robin. If tied again, shortest replay times for winner advances. Both players veto two maps in turns. Rock-paper-scissors to determine veto order.
Top map score: Seed 1 2nd map score: Seed 2
Ro16 format follows:
Top bracket: Group A Seed 1 vs. Group E Seed 2 Group B Seed 1 vs. Group F Seed 2 Group C Seed 1 vs. Group G Seed 2 Group D Seed 1 vs. Group H Seed 2 --- Bottom bracket: Group E Seed 1 vs. Group A Seed 2 Group F Seed 1 vs. Group B Seed 2 Group G Seed 1 vs. Group C Seed 2 Group H Seed 1 vs. Group D Seed 2
Ro8, Ro4, Finals as follows. Finals will be Bo5.
+ Show Spoiler [Over 32] +Double-Elimination "Forced 32" Tournament Bo3 Winners' until Bo5 Grand Final, Bo1 Losers' until Bo3 Losers' Final.X = Amount of players (X-32) * 2 = Anti-seed players, play in Winners' Ro"X"Winners advance to true Ro32 Winner's Bracket. Losers relegated to Losers' bracket Ro"X" which then goes on to become true first Ro16 Losers' Bracket. Example bracket for 35 players. (35-32) *2 = 6 Anti-Seed players in Ro"35": https://challonge.com/tournaments/bracket_generator?ref=yMLeIrnGSGAnti-seeds will be chosen by time of arrival, by volunteer, or by MMR - depending on how things are looking on the day of.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Questions. Can we bring our own keyboard and mouse? Do we pick the race at the spot on 7/13? Will it still be completed on 7/13 even when you get tons of people? Thanks
Updating my BN# 12303. thx
