If there are disagreements over anything going on with the event, discuss it,don't muck it up with memes and copypasta, this is a final warning we will start handing out bans from here on out.

btw is it possible that people walk-in and just play randomly? like last min registrations who live or go by the area normally? I know its already more than 32 currently, confirmed or not. Just wondering lol

It's possible if they find space outside of the reserved area to play in, which at this point I wouldn't put my hopes on. Every competitor must be at a computer at 2:45 PM whether they pre-sign up or not, whether they play in the reserved area or not.
Why do you ask? Got someone in mind? Tell them to sign up.
kinda wondering how organized it may run, its been a very long time since ive been to a LAN..apparently im usually not prepared for these things nowadays. I would think everybody will be there a good amount of time before 2:45...I assume also people are more organized then back then. I think it will be fine, just hope there is no confusion for people who come closer to the start time.
I am literally going to cry at this event. I am so happy right now. Will be going out of town to Portugal for a week and offline but I love bumping this thread and peer pressuring all my old teammates to come. See y'all June 24th, hope this blows up even more.
I just want to see all of y'alls faces, to see the casuals and the competitives, having fun. I'm so excited to eat Korean BBQ together again, and share old war stories. I'm so excited to WATCH some epic games!!! Look at this talent coming out of the woodwork!!! WHY ARE YOUR MMRs SO DAMN HIGH. I'm excited to play, give it 120%, and cry if I lose and cheer if I win, knowing that I can always get better with hard work.

It's very simple. If you're not checked in and at a computer at 2:45, then you don't play in the tournament. It's been in the OP since day 1. If people are confused, that's on them - there will be no confusion on our end.
1. We have received an anonymous $20 donation! A huge thank you to everyone who has donated, you can remain mysterious if you like but we will still say thank you, and you know who you are <3
This brings us to a total of $580 + Buy-ins for the tournament prize pool!
2. Pre-sign-ups are officially CLOSED!
We have a total of 49 attendees of which at least 36 signed up as competitors for the tournament! I am pretty sure this is the largest turn-out we have ever seen in a grassroots NYC BW LAN! Thank you all for your interest and for signing up ahead of time. You will all be guaranteed computer spots at the venue! Now begins the process of negotiating price and which areas we will be reserving. Stay tuned for updates!

Yongyuhogu MMR 1700? Protoss
Thanks
I've already relayed our reservation information to the venue management, so if he wants to come he is more than welcome to but there is no guarantee that he will get a computer to participate in the tournament. I'll put him at the top of first come first serve for extra slots, though.
Please either post here or PM me if you wish to go so that we can make a reservation.
The deadline for reserving a spot is June 29th.
Just post something like "sign me up for KBBQ."
We will be making a reservation for 10:30 PM. This is in anticipation of the tournament lasting about 6.5 hours, and then allowing an hour for debriefing and getting to Picnic Garden. The buffet closes at 1 AM.
There are tables accommodating 12 or 8 people. We will decide which combination of tables (2 x 8? 3 x 12?) we will be reserving once we get a final head count.
Keep in mind that this is 1.3 miles from the LAN venue.
These are the transportation options and estimated duration for each:
2. Bus: 15-25 minutes, including time walking to the bus stop. Q12, Q13, and Q25 busses all work, and seem to run every 20 minutes or so.
3. Uber: 10-25 minutes. You can arrange for a shared ride with other people at the venue. The recommended way of doing so is ordering UberX for ~4 people, or UberXL for 5-6 people. It will go on one person's account, and the rest can chip in with cash or buying a drink at Picnic Garden
4. Walking: ~30 minutes.
As the tournament progresses, we will have a better idea of whether or not that reservation is a realistic time for us or whether we need to move it. This time is thus subject to change in either direction by ~1 hour.
