Since this seems to be a growing concern for multiple people with no forthcoming solutions (NYC people's living spaces are small and often shared, and other people live far away from the venue), I will be adding information about housing options that are local to the area soon. There are two hotels that are right by the venue, for example. It's not ideal, but unfortunately it's the best that I can do unless someone comes forward with a couch. Ultimately, I think that with the regularity of public transport in the area, people coming from far away may have to consider sleeping on a red-eye bus/train or I guess in their car? Like I said, sadly not ideal, but there's nothing I can do. Hell, I've slept while sitting in the waiting area in Penn Station numerous times myself lol. (PS Sorry I can't pay back the favor for letting me crash at your place Storr, my living situation doesn't really allow for guests and such)

1. Asiatic Hotel 135-21 37th Avenue, Flushing, NY 11354 (On the same block as the venue) http://www.asiatichotelnyc.com/overview.html There seems to not be many rooms available for that night so move quickly if this is the option you'll be pursuing! Price: $170-190 for 1 night. 2. SuperLake Hotel 36-31 Prince St, Flushing, NY 11354 (Literally right on top of the venue) https://us01.iqwebbook.com/PNY848/~/ I think there is only one room available directly from their site right now. Price: $150 for 1 night 3. Ramada by Wyndham 3627 Prince St, Flushing, NY 11354 (A house or two down from the venue) https://www.wyndhamhotels.com/ramada/flushing-new-york/ramada-flushing-queens/overview?CID=LC:RA::GGL:RIO:National:36854&iata=00093796 There seems to be a lot more availability here. Price: $175+ for 1 night 4. Flushing Central Hotel 135-33 38th Ave, Flushing, NY 11354 (A few blocks away) http://www.stayflushing.com/ There seems to be availability here. Price: $129, $143+ 5. Flushing Hotel 36-38 Main St, Flushing, NY 11354 (Opposite side of the same block) http://www.flushing-hotel.com/ Their site seems to be buggy/I can't figure out how to check availability. Perhaps you may need to call them. --- There are of course many options that are within reach by pub trans. If you have any further questions about the area you can feel free to PM me.

I'm planning to just drive home and I figured I was one of the furthest away from this (google says about 2.5hrs). Not trying to pay NY rates to stay at a hotel or take my chances with the cops/desperate junkies sleeping on a NY street :D I mean, if people are asking, then that must mean the answer is yes? ^^

Probably going to depend on how many players we have to make sure the format doesn't result in a 48 hour long tournament or something. ASL8 format would be cool as shit but I think we're already at too many players for that many games. The organizers have mentioned that players won't be one-and-done so I'm assuming some kind of winners/losers bracket system with bo1 matches or a standard bracket with bo3's? Maybe Jealous has more info but it's early.

Bracket will be determined on the day of, no point in making a bracket ahead of time when some people might not show up/might not be on time/etc. The format will depend on how many people are going to be in the tournament. We have two formats already in mind, one for under 32 competitors, one for over 32 competitors. More information on that will be made public at a later time.

Jealous is the first person ( except Draco at Italian esporta open) I ever interacted with; on one side I feel sad, cause all the people I met on TL since what 2010? I will never meet I guess; I developed a lot of feelings for this community and tried to get involved as I saw fit: some great people one here for sure...my culmination of my legacy was being an Admin for the Italian Esports open: I saw people like FirebatHero, Draco, two Italian players including cloud, Sayle, KogeT; icannot remember other names; I worked tireressly behind the scenes and got the American player on stage, Aldo I know big delusion it was not streamed; also it was hard cause the set up was amazing, but very few spectators: on like 250 seats at any given time 50 not more where full; and Italians generally speaking except here on tl me and occupy.face have little interest to outsiders, or better japan is much more popular here than Korea. Also it was a small tour 8 famous players and everyone in Admin team was all like FBH is the star. Draco and KogeT did some beautiful work to bring people toghether; Draco got everyone toghether and my happiest memory was serving all 8 pros around a Como all laughing and joking and FBH doing some micro or something; also everyone kinda hanged up on Goronich, he was truly a Nerd and everyone was making fun of him, sympathetically, but hey guess who was the top foreigner? Him. All you guys I ask this of you: Make this event memorable: do not go with the mentality of taking, give from the start from now: Jealous cannot handle everything, please everyone get more involved: do this for brrowar, for sc, for all your memories of the awesome time you all old schoolers and enlists felt back then: unconditional love, brotherhood, and community creating; or do this for me. This is a unique opportunity; I wish I could be there. Again I say: go beyond: go the extra mile. It will be worth it, and you will make all of us (including me) who cannot physically be there happy. This I ask of you. Thank you

It won't go undocumented and I'm sure people will voice their opinions here, both good and bad, about how the event went. I encourage everyone to do so because there could be valuable lessons therein, or equally valuable good feels which is what I hope to get from running this event more than anything else like popularity or profit. Any advice you may have about running a tournament from your experience is of course also appreciated!
