If there are disagreements over anything going on with the event, discuss it,don't muck it up with memes and copypasta, this is a final warning we will start handing out bans from here on out. |

There's tons of NYC SC2 guys from the old days that used to do LANs around Flushing/Queens that would love to play in something out here again. Definitely not at the same time and place from what I currently know about the venue. That is a question/situation better suited for the SC2 forum and for someone else to organize! It's not on our to-do list. Hope you guys can figure something out! I remember there were BIG crews rolling through Cybercraft back in the day.

If you show up, you will be turned away at the door, so save us all the time and effort.

Is it possible to stream it or some parts of it? Especially not only casting the actual games but also interviews with players, telling stories, jokes etc. (kind of Home story cup format)?

Not sure what Homestory cup format is, but we will naturally have a more... lax? set-up as far as casting goes, with casters rotating and such. I can't make any promises as of right now, though.

Thanks! I meant the format that was used for Anniversary event, Zotac, Launch party, Holiday bash. Some talks and some games. Even if it's mobile phone quality it would still be great. =)

Thanks! I meant the format that was used for Anniversary event, Zotac, Launch party, Holiday bash. Some talks and some games. Even if it's mobile phone quality it would still be great. =) I don't think that broadcast quality would be the issue! We simply don't yet know if their computers have streamer software, if we have a lot of flexibility with the software, if we can bring our own streaming computer, etc. On top of that, we don't have any dedicated casters coming - our plan was just to have whoever wants to cast to hop on, and if one of the organizers gets knocked out of the tournament, they will take over casting. So, it's hard to structure specific things for the broadcast if we don't even know who will be casting when and such The format of the cast is not our top priority, but we will think more concretely about it once we have the groundwork established. I can almost assure you that if there is consistent casting, it will be a different atmosphere from most tournament broadcasts, because there will be 30+ people around, people switching in and out, getting to know each other, having fun! It probably won't be "serious" casting until we get to the moneyed matches, I'm guessing.
I will take your suggestion into consideration.

Age shouldn't matter though ^^; Hope to see you there.

Ahhh ok I just figured the younger crowd went to play SC2 because they cant handle Broodwar :D. You should start a steam group and grab some nerds from that side of the social media! I forgot to mention that I am a Zerg player.

Fourth official announcement!
We have received a $100 donation from an NYC LAN veteran and perpetual homeboy, Fazers!
This brings us to a total of $550 + Buy-ins!
Keep in mind that even if you can't throw in sums on the level of these generous donors, any donation is greatly appreciated, and will earn a shout-out not only in the thread but during the tournament and on stream (assuming we have one)! There is no contribution too small <3
That being said, things are certainly continuing to heat up. I'm very excited to see the direction this is going! Are you?

ID: IvoryPanda (forgot the BN#. I will update tonight) MMR: 1850 Race: Terran / Protoss Attending for the tourney
Questions. Can we bring our own keyboard and mouse? Do we pick the race at the spot on 7/13? Will it still be completed on 7/13 even when you get tons of people? Thanks

2. The rules are going to be posted soon, but a little bit of a spoiler in that regard since you asked: as long as your opponent knows your race at the start of the match, you can pick any race you want, switch race whenever you want, go random and shout, whatever. The only thing that matters is that your opponent knows your race at the start of the game.
3. The event will absolutely only last one day, and will be finished on the day of. This is a 24 hour venue, although we don't anticipate needing that much time to see it through.
