If there are disagreements over anything going on with the event, discuss it,don't muck it up with memes and copypasta, this is a final warning we will start handing out bans from here on out. |

Never put faith in me when it comes to a tournament. But yea I'm trying to figure out just for general knowledge what "1800" means in some terms I might know. I know top koreans are around 3k, top foreigners around 2300 but below that I don't know what any numbers mean. Currently when I hear MMR talked about like in KSL qualifiers I'm clueless.

I quoted what I was referring to as putting faith in me. Deleted the rest of this comment, just ignore what I say from now on if you're going to be taking jabs at it sugo. Thanks to those that were helpful with my newbie SC:R questions, etc. Really need to upgrade my little Intel NUC so I can be confident that it'll run SC:R without generating blue smoke.

Unfortunately already have plans on this day so won't be there ! But will hopefully be able come again in the future.

This is 10 minutes from my grandma's place... Definitely a tempting reason to be a good grandson and pay her a visit. (I live in Kansas.)
Put my down as a probably not, but I'll update if I decide to come once I know.
Battle.net Account: Jonoman#1668 Race: Noob Protoss MMR: 1700? I dunno I haven't played in like a year+.
What will the format of the tourney be? Double elimination?

What will the format of the tourney be? Double elimination? Format is TBD but either way people will get a chance to play more than one series before being eliminated. It depends on how many people sign up more than anything.

No one's taking a jab at you. I'm just saying we don't know who you are. If you think that's a jab, then I don't know what to say to you lol.

Super awesome LAN! I would love to go if I could combo a trip out there in NYC as I've never been but unfortunately it's a little too short on notice. Best of luck and will be hoping for more. Maybe sometime in the future we could all collaborate on these LANs for one giant NA event. The fact that there's so much interest and people willing to go to these things on their own dime is a good sign for the game.

The fact that there's so much interest and people willing to go to these things on their own dime is a good sign for the game. To be 100% honest we did not expect this amount of attention and interest from people far away from NYC, so we thought that one and a half month forward notice would be sufficient, particularly for people the area. We were even considering less than a month's notice (June 22nd or June 29th, announced on May 31st), but now we know better Live and learn. The way things are going right now, I think that a second installment is highly likely and we will definitely announce it as much ahead of time as possible. Hope to see you then!

Semi-regular east coast lans for BW is pretty insane. Didn't even think this was a possibility with SC:R release hype.

I don't think then, or now, we cared about some global level of hype or overarching revival or anything like that, or at the very least that was not our main prerogative. We just wanna LAN with friends and have fun, and we want to do it more often than we have over the past few years (almost never).

Anyone been to this internet cafe recently? Strange stuff on google about it (no air conditioning, computers only in Chinese, new name "One Hundred Internet Cafe") ? Could be the competition trolling them :D I see the google maps picture from July 2018 says BEST on the building. Meh, confusing. I'm sure people have done more homework on it than my 5 minutes of googling but I thought I'd mention it.

I'm sure people have done more homework on it than my 5 minutes of googling but I thought I'd mention it. I'm going there this weekend to make sure that everything is proper. This location was suggested by someone in the BW community who knows the owner tangentially. Having spoken with the owner over the course of a few weeks and seen some photos, I know that there IS a room with air conditioning, that there should be enough computers there for the anticipated turn-out, and that it should be accessible to anyone.
However, if I go there and find that the location is not up to par, we WILL change the location. We don't really want to, but if it's necessary, then it's necessary, no questions asked. This weekend I will also be looking at other venues in the area, as well as the proposed KBBQ location. Even if we change location, it will be within a mile or so of this one, so it shouldn't be much extra hassle.
Part of the reason why we did this pre-sign-up and announced over a month in advance is so that we would have time to adjust things as necessary depending on the turn-out. Either way, expect updates as to location, including photos and summary, by the end of this weekend.

Hey is there any chance to get an SC2 tourny being played here too? There's tons of NYC SC2 guys from the old days that used to do LANs around Flushing/Queens that would love to play in something out here again.
