Reynor legit almost had Maru. He got a little panicked with his vipers and spent too much time targeting Thors with his hydras, though.

Neeb played great versus Zergs. I love that he called Maru out for not challenging him to the mid game. If they meet again I think Neeb will do much better.

I'm going to be honest, I didn't actually know much about Neeb until this third GSL this season. Has he been consistently this good? Or is this recent?
I guess all I'm saying is that it kind of feels like he just appeared out of nowhere, not that I'm complaining.

He was the Serral of the WCS Circuit last year. He even won a tournament on Korean soil too. He hasn't lived up to his last year performance, but he's still a good foreigner and still capable of taking games off of many of the Koreans.

To get to ro8, Neeb beat: Losira, aliVe, Impact, Reynor
To get to ro8 season 1, Scarlett beat: Innovation, Rogue, Billowy, Zest
Neeb just got very very lucky with his road to ro8. He will be very promptly dealt with by whoever his opponent is. The fact that he had the audacity to taunt Maru, the greatest player alive despite his limping into the ro8 with a lucky bracket speaks wonders about his character.
Not to mention Maru rocked him in both games without breaking a sweat.

Time and tides. I had Maru and Impact getting through this bracket, I was wrong, I take it you were too? Neeb's banter is banter, but the constant proxy 2 rax openings by Maru deserve to be made fun of...no???

You're mad that Neeb decided to show some personality and have banter by calling out Maru for only playing early game-centric builds vs him? Are you for real lol
Why would we try and put down a player for doing what players in every other competition do? That just makes no sense to me

Yes yes, neeb's arrogant character. The audacity of him to suggest that he would stand a chance if he survived past 6 minutes. It's not surprising - he is well-known for not having a soft-spoken personality and for giving bm interviews.

You misunderstand me, banter is banter, I am not putting anyone down for it, I am just saying Maru's proxy 2 rax deserves to be made fun of

If neeb was a player of Maru's caliber I could see where you're coming from perhaps, but Neeb is no where close to Maru's skill level. It's not banter it's delusion, thinking that his inability to survive past 3 minutes means hes not the worst player to make ro8 in years.
Personality? Neeb's "personality" is a chain of forced awkward statements. He doesn't look "cool" for what he said, he looks like an angsty child who can't accept being outclassed.
I'm sorry but it's just disrespectful to taunt the reigning champion and favorite to win the tournament, especially after getting soaked. Notice that when Dark loses, he doesn't disrespect his opponents, he's respectful and just practices to get better.

When you lose to someone in competition - you don't make fun of them. You should accept the loss and be respectful to the one who defeated you. That's basic tournament ettiquitte, especially when the one who defeated you is considered to be the best and tournament favorite.

Was kinda surprised to see Neeb pull through. I don't follow the foreign scene much these days, so I was lead to believe it was pretty much all Zerg, all the time. Good to see Protoss still hanging strong.
And as for Terrans... ... ...
Well, at least you'll always have Jinro.

I feel like the opinions of teamliquid.net's posters has changed dramatically on this issue since Sos > Jaedong.

I want Maru to win this season but his play looked really shaky, especially versus Reynor, and his most likely next opponent will be Zerg.

Watched until the end of the winners match, was shocked to see that Reynor lost to Neeb. I really wanted to see him go further in this tournament

Oof I feel bad for reynor. So close yet so far.

I think you're taking everything a little too seriously

I love Maru, He is just a baller. He does the same figured out 2-1-1 into tank push fucking build vs opponents he thinks he will win ez. When he does not, he just proxy 2rax and make it work no matter what to live up the meme.
Sincerely, the second game vs Raynor is one of the most skilled displays of a defense vs a quick Blord push. I think no other terran holds it
I bet Maru doesnt makes again that build in the ro8 forward. He will do it again in that asian tournament tho.
