daaaaaamn neeb doesn't want serral to get all the glory. advancing to the ro8 is nothing to sneeze at. i believe only liquid jinro was the only foreigner to ever make it to the ro4 twice, no one else has gotten that far?
very exciting times

Naniwa is the most successful in terms of GSL depth imo, but he and Jinro (and even IdrA) all had amazing runs

Neeb just got very very lucky with his road to ro8. He will be very promptly dealt with by whoever his opponent is. The fact that he had the audacity to taunt Maru, the greatest player alive despite his limping into the ro8 with a lucky bracket speaks wonders about his character.
Not to mention Maru rocked him in both games without breaking a sweat. You're mad that Neeb decided to show some personality and have banter by calling out Maru for only playing early game-centric builds vs him? Are you for real lol Why would we try and put down a player for doing what players in every other competition do? That just makes no sense to me Calling out Maru? Are you kidding me? If neeb was a player of Maru's caliber I could see where you're coming from perhaps, but Neeb is no where close to Maru's skill level. It's not banter it's delusion, thinking that his inability to survive past 3 minutes means hes not the worst player to make ro8 in years. Personality? Neeb's "personality" is a chain of forced awkward statements. He doesn't look "cool" for what he said, he looks like an angsty child who can't accept being outclassed. I'm sorry but it's just disrespectful to taunt the reigning champion and favorite to win the tournament, especially after getting soaked. Notice that when Dark loses, he doesn't disrespect his opponents, he's respectful and just practices to get better. Neeb's banter is banter, but the constant proxy 2 rax openings by Maru deserve to be made fun of...no??? When you lose to someone in competition - you don't make fun of them. You should accept the loss and be respectful to the one who defeated you. That's basic tournament ettiquitte, especially when the one who defeated you is considered to be the best and tournament favorite. edit: if a mod could delete my empty post below, that'd be appreciated, I made two consecutive posts when I should have just made one stacked post. Worst ro8 player in 3 years what? Neeb is far better than Scarlett has ever been. He actually managed to dominate the WCS circuit in 2017.

It was like peak Mvp too. Late 2011

Seriously? This is what you're freaking out about? This?
"My PvT is pretty good but, I'm just sad I didn't get to show it this tournament because Maru just proxied me and I didn't defend the proxies well enough to even get into the mid game. But I think my PvT's pretty good actually."
This is the "taunt" you're so upset about? This is "calling out Maru"?
Not to mention here is the very first thing Neeb says in his interview:
"I really thought I was just going to lose to Impact 2-0 or something. So it feels nice to go through but, I don't think my run has been that impressive so far. So I'll try to show way better games for the round of eight."
Damn! What arrogance! What angst! In fact he even supported one of the exact points you're trying to make, that his path hasn't been that impressive! How dare he.
You are either a bad troll or the most belligerent Korean elitist on this site. You've only been posting for a month and almost every single post is shitting on foreign players in some way. Especially the top foreigners like Serral and now Neeb. I remember you from the GSL vs the World threads, lets see what you had to say:

Serral has a lot to prove. He didn't perform in korean tournament just like Neeb did when he won kespa cup. He has to prove that he is a top contender to big events. It is now or never because the next and final stop will be Blizzcon. i guess a 3rd place in WESG (with a win over classic, since neeb was 3rd the year before) and a ro4 at IEM WC is nothing to ignore as well. Especially if you consider the fact that Neeb mostly had to win PvPs back in the day (i think it was one series vs. Pet or something). Still a pretty damn good achivement from him, but I rate Serrals higher tbh. Even if he loses a close series vs inno its still a good sign for his level i would say Serral squeeked by Trap 3-2. Trap is not even the best Protoss in Korea. Serral then proceeded in Katowice to get stomped hard by Classic. That's what he did to get ro4... one series win against Trap. Now lets look at WESG... he beat neeb... and lost to Maru 0-3. Okay, he beat Classic 3-1 in the third place match, sure, but he lost 0-3 to Classic when the match truly mattered for the tournament. Stop saying "Serral got top 4 at WESG!!", that makes it sound much more impressive than it is. Serral beat Neeb to get there. Yes, that's all Serral did to reach the Ro4 at Katowice. Oh you know except go 6-1 against Rogue, Zest and Impact in the group stages. Did we forget that part, or it just didn't support the narrative we were trying to make? And when Serral loses to Classic it was important but when he beat Classic it was irrelevant. But the pro-foreigners are the ones who are biased! Lol.

No... Showtime isn't strong, he got lucky Round 1. Right He got the best PvP Player he's so lucky. 1) Zest is not the best PvP 2) Zest didn't give showtime even the slightest ounce of respect. He treated his match like he was leveling his smurf to GM. That's not a true victory, it's a lucky pass. Getting some more digs in, at Showtime this time. Foreigners are bad and if they ever win it was lucky and irrelevant!

Seriously, do you even watch foreign starcraft? Or did you just see the name Reynor, look him up Liquipedia and say "no results, must be a shitter!" "Gets trashed at events against foreigners without fail" LOL. You do know he just turned 16 a month ago right? And before that he couldn't play in WCS tournaments? As far as I know he has played in three offline events this year: WESG, WCS Valencia, and GSL. So how'd he do?
At WESG he made the Ro8 and lost to Maru, beating every foreign player he met along the way. At WCS Valencia he got first in his group in Stage 1, Stage 2, AND Stage 3, went 3-0 against Special in the Ro16 then lost to Serral in the Ro8.
Ok, so he made the Round of 8 at both events, beat every single foreign player he met along the way in both events, and both of his losses were to the overwhelming favorites and eventual champions. This is him getting "trashed at events against foreigners without fail" and getting "continually owned at foreigner events"? Two events where he beat every foreign player he faced except for Serral?
It seems very clear from the things you say that you know nothing about any of these players but are antagonistically shitting on them solely because they're not Korean. Even your very first post on this site was to shit on Serral. Again, you are either a troll or Korean elitist to a disgusting degree and mean about it. Edit: The answer above did my job way better.
To comment on the matches, I'm pretty sure Reynor was tilted as fuck after the series against Maru. In his series against Neeb he made lots of mistakes and questionable decisions.

Hopefully everyone will learn to ignore anything you say until you actually have some clue about the players you're talking about and don't spend 80% of your time bad mouthing players because they had the audacity to be non-Korean.
My thoughts exactly, thank you!
I went back to Neeb's winner's interview just to make sure I hadn't missed anything. Then I went to check his twitter account, even though he hardly ever posts anything. No banter what so ever. Just the usual humble, I'm-not-really-that-good Neeb we all know and love.
As to whether Rodya is a Korean elitist or a troll -- a troll, definitely, and not to be taken seriously. I think the best way to handle him is to link Torrefy's post whenever he is trolling, so that people understand what they're dealing with.

Reynor should have won against Maru, right?
It's hard, but what an improvement since last encounter when maru outcalssed him 3/0.
Is foreigner level at one of his highest peek of level, or Kor lower than it used to be ?

So, does it mean we should open the gate and let the tigers out?

Torrefy you are now on my special list of people i like without knowing them IRL.
I was in the GSL studio 2-3 weeks ago and watching Neeb and Special play, and the respect for foreigners even from Koreans are real.

Maru's proxies feel way too safe for me. Its just his standard opening at this point, sick stuff.
