Welcome to this month's top streamers list!
Huh? What's this? As you may have noticed, this is not Conti writing this. Conti used to post monthly top 50 streamers threads, but stopped doing so after May 2015. I run Fuzic - which collects the same kind of data - and a few people asked me whether I could maybe post such stats now no one else was doing it anymore, so here we are!
Data is sourced from fuzic.nl, and additional up-to-date stats may be found there. But in these threads - which I will try to post every month from now on if people like it - there will be a monthly summary so you can get a quick overview of that month's viewer numbers.
The end of April is a few weeks behind us already, but I'm posting this primarily so I can gather feedback on what kind of stats people would like to see for next month. So if there's any additional data you'd like to see, or if you have any other suggestions, leave a reply and I'll see what I can do.
This thread is something of a beta test Data may be off here and there but should overall give a good impression of who has been the most prolific streamer. Bugs and flaws will be addressed and fixed for next month's list.
Differences with Conti's threads There are a few differences with Conti's data. I do not list teams or races for streamers and I'm also not showing event stats specifically for WCS/Proleague. Instead I'm showing the overall top 20 events for this month. If you think the old charts would be important to retain instead, let me know. Alternatively, you can click through via the links below the images to see extended information for the rankings that includes some of these details.
I also decided to add a (shorter) list of most viewed caster streams for the month, and a top 5 of best viewed matches (as far as these were registered by the tracker). Let me know if this is useful.
For now I've decided not to add highlights ("streamer x has been especially active this month") as this is the first month I'm doing this and I don't really have the perspective needed to do so. Might be something to add in the future though.
Why is Winter in the list??? Winter is in the charts because he shows up in the data supplied by Twitch's API, same as for everyone else. I decided not to exclude anyone as I have no way of independently verifying whether someone's numbers are legit. If you do not think Winter should be in this list, feel free to ignore him. Please do not start (another) discussion about whether he should be included or not.
The lists "VxH" is the average amount of viewers multiplied by the amount of hours the streamer has streamed during that month. The list is sorted by this metric, as it gives a good impression of the streamer's activity through the month.
You can click the links below the charts for additional stats and a list you can sort by whichever metric you prefer.
Note that some matches may be missing: this part is reliant on whether the matches were listed in TL's calendar

That's a pretty strong downward trend those last few months.

Sad to see, that we are just 6 months after lotv release, back on the same average viewer count as at the end of hots :/

It it stll higher than last month of hots. The hype of new expansion brought a lot of new/old people returned. For most people there was a reason why they left/weren't interested before. Only a small amount is retained after the hype has faded.

Streamer: Stephano, average: 380, peak: 28784
What happened there?

Thanks for the effort in creating this thread.
are you sure BaseTradeTV has an average of 294 viewers? That seems very low.

Hmm, that's a very good question. Here's the session in which he got 28,784 viewers. That only happened at the very beginning of the session, and only for one minute.
What happened? Could've been a glitch in the Twitch API, could've been riding off another session or an event (though I'd imagine there would be a more gradual decline then). I'm not sure, but probably Stephano didn't actually have that many viewers.

Looks like the chart didn't include event streams (like the player stream ranking), which is of course kind of useless for caster streams. It now includes all streams and BaseTradeTV is back at the top where it belongs

Ouch, that viewer count per month decrease hurts...
|
Really interesting, thanks for making this.
I'm slightly concerned about my life after seeing I was live for a week and a day during April ...

And it's also lower than all of the rest of the months of Hots.

Sick how some casters stream more than actual streamers.

Congratz Winter. we need more guys just like you! I don't think memes are allowed on teamliquid.
Certainly hope this downward trend doesn't stay that way for LotV. Good to see that events are holding strong at least.

Isn't it about time Winter is removed from this? His views clearly aren't legitimate.

Thumbs up for the work you have put into this

I just wonder how long can you survive on TL.

Missed Contis old ones. Thanks for doing this.
Pity it'll probably turn into a shitfest cause of all the winter circle jerk.
