edit - seems the bug only occurs when theres an AI in the game. weird. Anyone else have a problem like this? | ||

Greets, gnj sorry, it seems that you fell between the cracks 1/ the psi indoctrinator ( http://www.sc2mapster.com/assets/dark-protoss/files/85-psi-indoctrinator-team-color/) is also a doodad sometimes (through a "misstype" or the placement of some other object..) people place objects that are registered only if certain filters are activated or even only through coding (via exterior software) .. that could be the case here, maybe it came with another object you placed (as an attachment/whatever) 2/ every unit has a multitude of fields that define it.. some are "particular" to the object/unit/etc, some are "applied" through codification to several object/unit/etc if you cannot find the specific field (visible through fog of war/aquisition range/whatever it could be), then go ask on mapster for this sorry, i can't check more, my editor is crashed and there are no bug fixing (for galaxy) from blizz for mac users good luck | ||

the problem: -map shows a different name in custom games -only on KR, other servers work fine somehow attempted fixes that didn't work: -changing the file name -changing the map name in map info -changing the name it's uploaded with -reducing the mapfile to components and replacing broken locales other info: -the map used the file of another map to copy the tileset, but any info other than tileset were destroyed afaik -somehow can be found with the name that I uploaded it as, rather than the name it's displaying with -only displays the wrong name to others, and seems to be working perfectly fine when on the uploader account -broken locales don't use the name of the displayed nor the intended name | ||

Very weird, but yeah show me the locales the map currently has. | ||

Edit: I should also note that I've been adjusting pre-existing values trying to tweak things (at least the things I can make sense of). I'm not 100% new to the editor, but I'm not particularly skilled in it either. Thanks in advance! | ||

I made a new map file, selected the right textures, and copied dune trenches in to it, repainted pathing etc... but after uploading, my other map, earthquake, which is the name dune trenches was taking, now uses the name dune trenches. this is the point where I really don't know what's going on anymore, considering earthquake never once was named dune trenches and they're both in seperate files now, so I have no idea where even the servers are picking this up from. | ||

Aside from sc2mapster which is a great resource, I'd recommend onetwosc on youtube, even though the tutorials are old, the editor hasn't really changed much over the years. Also just general advice when making abilities from scratch; work "backwards". Meaning start with the effects then work backwards adding the behaviors, model, actor(s), button and ability itself. | ||

Thanks in advance! you are a mapmaker (test/trial is the only way to learn while fueling the passion) I agree with all posted responses also.. the best is to try (on a test/experiment map) with preexisting abilities (and i mean a lot.. like trying to make a drone be refundable when you would refund a zerg building).. so you have/see/identify) all layers of interdependence that are at work in any 1 ability .. when you create/modify an ability from scratch glhf, i look forward to travelling in your "galaxy" + Show Spoiler + On February 20 2015 12:29 Antares777 wrote: I think I'm having a problem with collapsible rock towers in the editor. It's like the units don't exist in the editor. are you sure you display every layer? of course you have tried refresing/rebooting.. did you test map / upload to see if the unit is there? was your map a "clean" new map did you use a wol rock and you are in hots? good luck, you my favorite galaxy ps: + Show Spoiler + i still have not seen a "domino rocks" map (a map where if you destroy the first collapsible rock (or a building) and the rocks collapses one unto the other in a serie (i would at that point create invisible allied observer showcasing the collapse for all players in the game) and the whole map is changed) | ||

Has anyone had issues with the spectators in a custom map? i created a 6p ffa map, but the 7th slot (aka observer/caster) can't see the full map. it only brings up player view options. do i need to add something special to Map -> Player Properties options? i've dl'd other ffa maps, but can't seem to see anything different in my setup. the Map -> map options has spectators enabled thanks in advance EDIT: anything googled has only brought up forums of people saying the same thing, but no solution... is this a known bug? | ||
