So what changed that this works again? We with JaKaTaK found special parameter that never exists in variables.txt - lighting=0. And then we optimized low settings to these Hybrid ones, taking some stuff from Mediums, like force fields or creep. Any screens of burrowed widow mines or cloaked units? They are same as on Medium settings. I do have more trouble spotting Widow Mines and Force Fields are a little harder to see than the higher graphic settings On hybrid settings or on low? ONLY 2h of trying find good settings and i finnaly find it ! GraphicsOptionShaderDetail=0 FIX!!!!!!!!! You know that low-shaders shutting down entire Hybrid settings?

Yeah i know but if you will find better solution of this problem let me know I'm not sure I'll find something better. The only thing you can try - turn everything to standard Medium and then add to variables next line lighting=0 It will be similar to the Hybrid settings, but with some extra stuff and some differences.

I have a decent rig (i5 3450, Hd7850) and can run above 60fps only on low and medium quality (the physics stuff I always put on max)

On low i have plenty of performance at start of game: And on max, it's usually like in the 300's. Hard to believe i have 5x the FPS you have on medium while i'm on max? (with a 770) I'm only GPU limited at the start of game, though below 60 is a rarity. Reflections is terrible for performance though and effects and physics both have the potential to cut your FPS in half if you're not careful with them. That's not on the GPU, though - and they only prove to be a problem when dealing with lots of units I'm gonna try a few settings here, ty!

What about Effects, is there a reason not to also put that on Low? And what about Post-Processing? Is that only applied to cinematics or does it do something in gameplay? Thanks very much.

do I just add lighting=0 or do I change a line that's already in my variables since I don't see any line that just says lighting. Add Before I try this, I'd like to try Medium settings the way some pros apparently opt to go. I presume they tweak some things. Such as Physics to Off and Terrain to Low. And Textures on Low for make cloak more visible? Textures on low may give you alternatelowtextures. They require less memory, because those alternate textures are just smaller texture files in the game resources. And what about Post-Processing? Is that only applied to cinematics or does it do something in gameplay? Post-processing haven't been noticeable during tests. So we turned it off in Hybrid settings. What about Effects, is there a reason not to also put that on Low? In Hybrid settings we took some options from medium Effects, such as special effects for Mothership Core building animation, ground holes for static burrowed units, but this also adds not so distracting effects for blink/warping animation, also for minerals when they're in mining process.
