If they end up making the Nexus 5, Google better stick with their brand and release a relatively top-spec phone (unlike the Moto X).

Is that a price or weigh difference? Personnally i'd like something to see movies or play games in common transportations ( alltogether with train/bus/metro i have about 2-3 hours of it each day) and to get wifi while waiting in trainstations. I always carry a backpack with me wherever i go so the size and weigh aren't a problem for me. I can't make up my mind between a Nexus 7 or 10 , or wait for the 11 series ? They will be out around october with the nexus 5 no?

Because they have about the same purpose and neither of them fits in the pocket ( or you get giant pockets? or i get small pockets? ), so i can see that most of you carry it around in their bag, in which the 10 inch one would thus fit as well. Also you can hold it in one hand comfortably for extended periods, whereas I'm not so sure about that with a 10" one.

I find it impossible to hold a 10" tablet in one hand for longer than a couple of minutes, I always have to put it on my lap. Smaller tablets on the other hand are much more comfortable. Another thing is that a 7"-8" tablet is closer to the size of a normal book, which may be important for people who like to read books or articles on their tablets. I bought an iPad mini two months ago and it makes my transformer tab look and feel incredibly unwieldy.

I mainly intend to use the phone to translate things, look up directions and to take spontaneous pictures. Is there a particular phone that is cheaper than the latest brands that would be suited for this sort of stuff or would any do? Additionally, what would be the cost around, is it safe to buy one used at all? (I'm Europe and I have a pay-as-you-go sort of plan)

You should wait for more advice from people who have been following the more current phone scene though.

Heard there are quite a few issues with it though, one of which being the tactile screen reacting randomly/receiving input that doesn't exist or something. But not only that. So I'm kinda hesitant to buy it immediately (will be out in ~1 week in France iirc).
