So my brother wants to replace is phone ( it was an old "traditional" nokia phone), and wants to get a smartphone. I'm really happy of my galaxy s4 but he's looking for something a bit less expensive. Should I tell him to get a nexus 4?It's really cheap right now, and he doesn't really care about having the last model available, but they stop selling it the 10th of september.

What are the problems you've been having with it? I've been using a Galaxy Nexus since December 2011. Other than crappy as hell battery life (which can be fixed if I cared enough to buy an extended battery for it), it's served me rather well, functionally. Oh, and of course, the stupid as hell design choice of having the headphone jack on the BOTTOM of the phone.
I would buy an extended battery for it, but my 2-year contract is almost up anyway.

The nexus 4 is notorious for getting extremely hot even when you're not driving it too hard. There's no solution, just something you have to put up with. Buying a good case will shield it somewhat from your hand though.

I broke the screen about a year ago and was sent a refurbished one as a replacement. It's always had this issue where it always thinks it's charging, whether it's plugged in or not. I'll be out and about and it'll flash "charging (xx%)" and then go away and flash again every few seconds. That's all fine and I don't really care but for some reason when it gets to about 50% battery, every time that flashes again, it turns my screen on and I can't keep it off.
So basically once I'm at around 50%, my phone keeps the screen on and quickly kills itself. If I reboot during this time, I boot back up with a significantly lower battery (maybe 15%ish.) Other than that, it works great but I haven't been able to fix it yet.
I've flashed plenty of different roms and relocked and gone with stock and other things. I think it may be an issue with the charging port but my attempts to clean it haven't helped.
PS: I love the headphone jack on the bottom. I always drop my phone in my front pocket head first so it works for me ^^

In fact, we’re almost sure that it’s the same device. Omw. Well now I gt an S4 I guess no new phone for me for awhile. Seriously wanted google version but couldn't get in time and thought would be screwed on the LTE (I'm not in the U.S) what do you know the local version doesn't have it and you need a seperate model.
The new Nexus 5 looking pretty cool, I'm sure this there will be LTE.

Got myself a Nexus 4 too, since I accidentally broke my S2 recently. The insurance payed me out 300€.
Only gripe I have so far is the battery life. It seems to be laughably low.

With the 4.3 update my battery life has improved leaps and bounds, lasting a day with very heavy usage, and up to 4 days on little to no usage. I'm on a custom rom though and that may play into it though.

Well I've only charged it twice so far, I've read somewhere that the battery life increases after the first couple of charges.

I got my Nexus 7 2013 now, and it's absolutely insane.
First of all, the WiFi-receiver blows my mind.
I passed one of my uni buildings today and while sitting in a bus, the building being ~50 meters away and through an honest to God 2m thick stone wall, I had a WiFi-connection fast enough to download a show with 10 Megabytes (not Megabits) per second, which is about the cap for download-speeds our uni has "inflicted" upon us.
Before you ask, no, it wasn't the bus's WiFi, in public transport the fastest you get in Germany is ~4-5 MB/s.
Anyways, having a more thorough go at the tablet now, but the display really blows me away already.
I'd really need some app-recommendations, though.
