I can barely purchase home internet that fast in Canada. WTF.

That's exceptional. I'm positive there are more rural areas in which you don't get that fast home internet, either.
Anyway, back to the Nexus, can anyone finally recommend some decent Android apps? I'm interested in anything but games, and apps without ads are much preferred.
Does anyone know an ad-free video player that has background play?

First, it appears very likely that LG's great work with the Nexus 4 has convinced Google that it should manufacture the Nexus 5, as well. And second, if the street has the truth of it, the Nexus 5 will be based on the LG G2, to a certain extent (probably a smaller screen, no rear buttons). We know that, because of a wildly publicized FCC filing from yesterday, which requested a “class 2 permissive change” for the LG G2. What went under the radar, however, is that the torn-down Nexus 5 actually uses the very same OIS camera unit that the LG G2 does, even though as far as the looks go, the Nexus 5 is completely different in that regard. This means that the next Nexus will probably be the newest device to join onto the camera-loving bandwagon, and this is certainly good news.
I'm hyped for the nexus 5! Just can't wait till google finally announces it so I can throw my money at them! Hopefully, they learned from last year and won't have horrible shortages like the nexus 4 launch! I want it in november and not february!
So after a couple of days with the new Nexus, there's two things I really miss:
1. some multi-window app that lets me use chrome or gmail and a video player alongside each other 2. A decent cover. I know it's not possible to copy Apple's smart cover, given the fact that it's held in place by magnets and the Nexus is made out of plastic, but I'm slightly annoyed by that.
Does anyone know of a cover that has a sleep / wake function and doesn't add a lot of bulk? I'm amazed Asus decided not to add a magnet to their own cover.
Two LG Nexus 5 versions have apparently received Wi-Fi certification – previously the LG-D820/LG-D821 smartphones have been seen in FCC and Bluetooth SIG documentation.
This time around we’re looking at two LG-D820 versions, the LG-D820_C and the LG-D820_S, although it’s not clear what the difference between the two devices is at this time.
At this point I'm mulling over between the Note 3 and the Nexus 5 for my next phone in a couple months.
The main things attracting me about the Note 3 are the huge screen and the battery life, but that is countered by the absurd price. The fact that it is Samsung also means that I won't be completely up-to-date with the latest custom ROMs, but if I really analyse my usage of the Nexus 4 in the last couple years, I haven't been flashing too much so that shouldn't bother me.
Of course the Nexus 5 isn't out yet, but based on current rumours, the main advantages for the Nexus 5 are the price (if it's anything like the Nexus 4's price), the stock Google, and custom dev support. However the battery life on the Nexus line has never been even close to impressive, and with my extremely heavy usage I always find myself having to consciously throttle my usage or find a place to charge my phone in the middle of the day.
Getting more disappointed with the nexus 5 with each leak. First being the measly 2300mah battery, now it's the average 8mp camera . Was looking to upgrade to it from my n4. Now I'm thinking of getting the lg g2 or note 3
So is the Nexus 5 suppose to be a complete replacement of the 4 which will never get an upgrade again, or simply another option. I personally don't want the bigger screen and am contemplating getting the 4 now since its so cheap (that or waiting to get a S4 mini if the prices are comparable which I don't think they are.).
