Moto X certainly looks a million times better than the ass ugly phones in their current roster.

If they end up making the Nexus 5, Google better stick with their brand and release a relatively top-spec phone (unlike the Moto X).

I'd be surprised if the Nexus 5 doesn't have some of the same features of the Moto X.

Loved my Droid X2, until it died last month, love my Razr Maxx HD, and love my Nexus 7. I read all of my comics/manga through them.

Wow comparing the old nexus 7 to the 7 2 is like comparing apples to oranges. It is a lot slimmer, and taller. Sound seems to be a lot better.

I was wondering what is the motivation to buy 7 inch tablet rather than 10 ? Because they have about the same purpose and neither of them fits in the pocket ( or you get giant pockets? or i get small pockets? ), so i can see that most of you carry it around in their bag, in which the 10 inch one would thus fit as well.

Is that a price or weigh difference?

Personnally i'd like something to see movies or play games in common transportations ( alltogether with train/bus/metro i have about 2-3 hours of it each day) and to get wifi while waiting in trainstations.
I always carry a backpack with me wherever i go so the size and weigh aren't a problem for me.

I can't make up my mind between a Nexus 7 or 10 , or wait for the 11 series ? They will be out around october with the nexus 5 no?

I chose the smaller one. I think it fits way better when you're on the go. The screen is big enough to do just about anything. Also you can hold it in one hand comfortably for extended periods, whereas I'm not so sure about that with a 10" one.

7 (or 8) inch tablet are a lot more useful when you're on the move. I find it impossible to hold a 10" tablet in one hand for longer than a couple of minutes, I always have to put it on my lap. Smaller tablets on the other hand are much more comfortable. Another thing is that a 7"-8" tablet is closer to the size of a normal book, which may be important for people who like to read books or articles on their tablets. I bought an iPad mini two months ago and it makes my transformer tab look and feel incredibly unwieldy.

Just bought a brand new Xiaomi MI 2S today for 1100 yuan ( a bit less than 140€) instead of 1700 ( a bit more than 210€), quite amazing. Got the discount after i complained a bit about them not bringing me the right phone right away mmmh ahah I was gonna buy the recent Xiaomi Hongmi but they proposed that deal to appease me, never asked for so much but there it is !

So i got my cheap smartphone ( and first one ), works like a charm for me. So now i still get the budget to get the new google nexus 7 right when i get back to France.
And the 8 will be release like 2 months after aww

Nexus 7 tablet fits in my pocket... (admittedly not super easy but workable). Not that I'd walk around all day with it in there necessarily but you don't need a backpack/briefcase or w/e to haul it around if necessary.

I have an iPad 2 and a Nexus 7. The iPad is way too heavy, most of the time you have to have it rest on something to be able to use it for a moderate period of time. The Nexus 7, I have a hard time putting it down because it's so light, can't even feel the weight on that thing, so it's on my hands the majority of the time it's being used.

Hey guys, I'm looking to get a phone with Android or a smartphone. I know absolutely nothing about phones, I've never owned a smartphone nor ever considered one until I arrived in Europe.

I mainly intend to use the phone to translate things, look up directions and to take spontaneous pictures. Is there a particular phone that is cheaper than the latest brands that would be suited for this sort of stuff or would any do?

Additionally, what would be the cost around, is it safe to buy one used at all? (I'm Europe and I have a pay-as-you-go sort of plan)

None really, but I don't see myself spending more than 250 euros. What would be a safe bet? Those 450$ phones look great, but a bit over-the-top, I'm not a huge phone user beyond what was mentioned.

I'm a bit out of date since I only really dig into the phone scene when I'm thinking about buying a new phone, and I last did that in January. I ended buying the Nexus 4 because of its amazing value for money (released at the same time as the Samsung Galaxy S3, and was pretty much as powerful for half the price), and it probably still is an excellent phone for its price right now.

You should wait for more advice from people who have been following the more current phone scene though.

Heard there are quite a few issues with it though, one of which being the tactile screen reacting randomly/receiving input that doesn't exist or something. But not only that.

So I'm kinda hesitant to buy it immediately (will be out in ~1 week in France iirc).
