I guess he can retire in his hometown. But Boyd (Flash) Gordon and Labarbera are certainly useful signings. And so far they've managed not to give up anything that would cause my sphincter to rupture. I will miss Horcoff, but Gordon helps fill that whole. Still, if the Oilers wish to balance the team at all, they still require a decent top-pairing defenseman and another center. I'd rather see that accomplished via trade than overpaying on FAs. Also, don't fucking trade Paajarvi you assholes. Even if he is second pairing, it is only because the Oil D blows. Ferrence is ok but not worth that type of money imo. It's not horrible though, just not good. Really though, they need to trade one of those kids for an established to pairing dman, because there certainly isn't anything close on the FA market now. Those other two deals are smart budget signings, but the team really isnt gonna take off until that D improves quite a bit.

I think he made that abundantly clear when he signed with the Wings opposed to the Sens when a lot of people (including myself-- uh oh here comes the predictions!) think that his chances would have roughly been the same between the two. He gave up on Boston. Makes you wonder what Chiarelli was offering.

I like that Bobby Ryan trade a lot. He's a good player who could benefit from a change. Silvferburg might have good potential though, so it might pay for the ducks down the road. But Ottawa got themselves a bonafide powerfowrard who can score.

Goto love internet culture, where people feel then need over compensate to appear online tough! Its pretty ironic that you "cut me down to size", or what I would call make a dick comment for no reason, for jumping to the conclusion that TSN ranked clackson #1 one and not sporstnet. OMG I am so dumb and such a bad person. Then you jump to the conclusion that I'm "people like you" Exactly what are "people like you". People who post on the hockey forums of a computer game sight with differing opinions then you. I am sure there is a "ass clown" in this argument. I just am equally sure its not me =-) Over compensate? I don't think you'd be able to say that to my face fella. Your a riot. If you want to be an ignoramus do so on your own time. It was you who was taking out your frustration on the media without actually looking into your shit. You know what we call that around here? Anyway, this diarrhea has taken up enough space in this thread. Take it elsewhere because we don't need jokes like you.

Can finally stop with these Bobby Ryan to PHI rumors thank god. It was the second incarnation of Jeff Carter for Tomas Kaberle. Stop those rumors? Hello??? Now he's closer to philly than ever before! I think Silvferburg is a top 6 guy at worst. Is that other prospect any good?? If you get top 6 out of him, and decent roster players of the other guy and the pick, ducks probably win. I think Bobby Ryan is probably a lock for 30g/70+pts on Spezza's wing.

Because you would would have to think Bos has better chance at the cup then Det next year. So how much less was it? And does that mean that he is really after the cup or just some more coin? Or if he really thinks Det is that close, I don't. They barely made the playoffs and tehy are losing as much as they are getting. Det is dangerous with all there experiance and Datsyuk and zetterberg are 2 of the best in the league but I would think Bos is top3 Favoured and Det is top 10-15? (checked 3 betting sites Bruins 3rd Det 8th on 2 and third had bruins 4th and Det 5th, So apparently its closer then I thought) (for those intereted in ott 15th) you have to remember, detroit doesn't have to deal with the west coast travel anymore, that will be a big boost for detroit

I don't think Alfie is the kind of guy who would go out of his way to get more coin just to play another season. His price tag was never really outrageous. He wants to play and his kids like being at the rink. It's not like this is the first time he's thought about going to the Wings. In fact, I think Boston, Detroit and Ottawa were the only likely scenarios back then too.
