Hei again everyone!
I’m back! Not stronger or anything as people always say. I’m just back. Actually I was never really away. I just stopped writing about the games I completed. I also had a book reading need that needed some taking care of. On that note I can recommend Patrick Rothfuss’ “The Kingkiller Chronicle” series. Only 2 books so far, but I ate them up in under 2 weeks.
So since the last episode I’ve completed a whole bunch of games. Some good, most boring, some took long, others took less than one hour. What they all have in common is that they put me closer to the impossible goal that is to get all achievements on Kongregate.com.
I found a little game/application on Kongregate.com that I will use going forward. It’s called Badge Master and it does the job of counting and keeping track of which achievements you have completed. I'm in way over my head with this mission and the next few pictures will show you why:
September 11th 2012
October 9th 2012
As you can see they have added 26 achievements in that last month. I’ve completed more than that, but it's still a mission with an ever extending goal. Picture running a marathon and the finish line just keeps moving further and further away from you. When you finally finish you didn't actually finish because the finish line moved again.
Anyway… On to the games. Since I’ve played so many since last I’m going to post the ones I liked the most.
The Enchanted Cave
Achievements:
- Dungeon Break Badge (Use the escape wings – Easy 5 points, 312.000 before me)
- Hack 'n' Stash Badge (Deal 120 damage with a single attack and escape with 10 total artifacts - Medium 15 points, 185.000 before me)
- Hack 'n' Stash Badge (Earn any 10 in-game medals - Medium 15 points, 206.000 before me)
- Viva La Revolucion! Badge (Stick it to the capitalist pigs by defeating the final boss on the 100th level – Hard 30 points, 118.000 before me)
You start with crap gear at level 1 fighting useless critters. As in any other RPG you get better and better equipment and the monster gets tougher and tougher. The twist in this game is that you can’t possible complete the game in your first try. You need to find the Escape Wings and use them before you end up dying. When using the escape wings you keep all artifacts items and all stat upgrades. Thus next time you are even stronger and better equipped and can move deeper into the dungeon.
Go go gadget escape wings!
Each run only takes 10-15 min but you will need quite a few runs before finishing the game. Sometimes you are lucky and get great artifacts while other times you find great normal items that won’t help you on your next run.
The achievements was completed by basically completing the game.
The Company of Myself
Achievements:
- Illusions of Grandeur Badge (Complete level 5 – Easy 5 points, 257.000 before me)
- Illusions of Grandeur Badge (I complete all 20 levels - Medium 15 points, 244.000 before me)
I wonder how I would feel if I was standing on my own head…
This game use the same simplicity as Continuity did from last episode while still making a challenging game. It’s quite short with only 20 levels but I enjoyed the experience never the less.
Achievement Unlocked
Achievements:
- Elephantastic Badge (Complete 50% of the achievements – Easy 5 points, 466.000 before me)
- Achievement Lady of the Evening Badge (Earn this achievement on this achievement-based website by unlocking all achievements of the achievement-based game - Medium 15 points, 229.000 before me)
- Four Minute Frenzy Badge (Complete all 100 achievements in under 4 minutes – Hard 30 points, 29.000 before me)
You are an elephant. You are an achievement hunter. That’s it. For some reason I found this really compelling. No really I did. Surprising isn’t it? I must admit that I had to look up the last 2 or 3 achievements since all you have to work with is the title of the achievement which was quite ambiguous for some of them.
After 7.70 seconds I’ve already completed 25%. 100% in 4 minutes is going to be cake!
The hard achievement was actually somewhat hard. You needed to remember two handfuls of achievements by heart and then figure out a way to do it in fast succession. It’s also clearly shown by the stats. Only 10% of the people who got 100% complete did so in less than 4 min.
Lastly I want to know if you are enjoying this or if you find it irrelevant. I enjoy pushing myself to play these games a lot but find that I have less motivation for writing about it than I did in the beginning. So please post if you read this, what you thought about it or what I could do differently

Oh, I skipped the list of completed games. Felt unnecessary and useless to be honest.
