Sorry but I won't let the white man sweep racism under the rug... actions have consequences, and orb should pay the consequences of his inflamatory remarks on my race. I'm asian and I really don't give a fuck about racism that happened to "my" race. And yes, there has been a lot of it. What's done is done, most people don't think like this now (or are trying to be politcally correct) so step down your horse. *you* did not suffer hundreds of years of brutality. Your ancestors did. Grow up. To be honest I would love to be black instead of asian because of all the affirmitive action that goes on here. Easy ivy league if I was black, hard ivy league if I was asian. Wow you say you don't care about racism affecting your race, but yet you say "Easy Ivy League if I was black, and hard ivy league if I was Asian." Really now? As a black guy with a Korean wife I know she cares about racism affecting her. She still has a hard time trusting Japanese people because of what happened a LONG TIME AGO in the past. For example, the raping/pillaging of Korea and etc. So to say that it's stupid that people care about what happened in their past is kind of ignorant if you ask me... This is funny because it sounds to me like your wife is a xenophobe for no good reason at all. It is ridiculous how some people actually feel sorry for themselves because of what happened to their race or country before they were even alive, boo fucking hoo.
The capital that white-plantation owners made off the backs of black labor in the 19th century contributed to a lot of the "old wealth" that still exists in the United States. Racism isn't simply about remembering history--it's about the sustained material effects and trauma of one group dominating another.
This is far more complicated than your oversimplified suggestion that this about "people feel[ing] sorry for themselves." Try studying race and history before making such an ignorant comment.
The n-word draws on a legacy of white dominance over blacks in the United States that continues to haunt the opportunities available to black in a society where true equality is mere lip service to the reality of inequality.

You know. Its just so stupid. The English language has some of the best offensive cursewords known to man. Why pick a word that makes you look like A: a racist, or B: someone who needs to grow up and stop listening to gangster rap.
You're a SC2 caster, a guy who provides commentary to a videogame for an internet audience. My sisters would say a Nerd in this case. Its just so, so utterly stupid. This whole incident, this whole topic, just because you are so uncreative in a choice of words, a choice that well.. in either case A and B will make you look stupid. Mission accomplished.
Btw, anyone watching IPL TAC Grand finals? It apparently has a lot of starcraft related content. By watching you're probably providing more e-sports support than bitching in a reddit style. Sponsors ultimately like viewership more than drama.

I think if any of the EG team got caught saying nigger on their stream, they would be reprimanded or suspended.
If they said it in a major tournament or broadcast, they would be insta-fired. Even if it was one of their aces.
If Tasteless used nigger in a derogatory way in GSL broadcast, he'd get fired for sure.
The only reason I can think an US organization would be lenient is if it occurred after hours, on a personal stream.

This is just a way for all the TL imbeciles to have a big circle jerk and act all self righteous and it is disgusting to try and ruin someone for your own pleasure.
Everyone acting all hurt over this needs to grow up. So true. Since you are from Germany, you should try this experiment. Get involved with a large Sc II organization that talks about reaching the mainstream. Then on your stream repeatedly say things like : "fucking cockroach jew" " go get gas chambered" on several occasions. Tell us what happens. You understand the difference between mainstream and a local country club?
go get gas chambered is kinda on another level. Im not saying orb didnt do something wrong and acted tilted. Everybody gets tilted at some time. Everybody is insulting other guys when you get tilted. Just because he used a worse insult then others, its such a big deal. Hes a good caster, his personal attitude is something i dont care about and people shouldnt care about as long as he doesnt use racist slurs when casting games. I dont give a shit if somebody is too left or too right to be something as long as it doesnt affect his profession. Thats utterly retarded and thats what im critizising. Even if he is a racist, you people basically kill him for this, making him a person below eachothers level, almost criminalizing him. He didnt use racial slurs or anything on the ESV casts i watched. So its fine. To make this clear, if somebody is researching a cure to HIV, and he hates gays, should he be fired cause his attitude is morally questionable to the majority of people?
People need to get over little incidents like this. It would be something else if he was a real public figure like a politician ofcourse. On the other hand, you think all your politicians are clean guys? No. Theyre just better at covering up their shit so far. There is no perfect human. Everbody has some weaknesses and has done stupid things in the past he probably regrets till now. People need to stop killing persons for minor mistakes theyve done.
The other part. Calling somebody a nigger. Now this Xann guy gets all offended saying ohmagawd he insulted me, the black race and all my ancestors I am so offended. Thats racism. He seperates between the black(his) race and the others, the white man. The girl having prejudices against japanese people because of the war ages ago. Thats racism. Orb used a racial insult. No doubt. Still he only insulted the guy he was playing against. No One Else.
(Now in the US you should probably check if orb has black roots(then it would be okay or cool) else its despiteful and wrong. Thats racism at its best too btw. People just fail to realize it. When people call people nigger its either bad, or not. If you make a racial difference, youre racist. Theres no other logical conclusion.)
If people would call some german a nazi, nobody would give a shit. The guy you actually called nazi would probably be pissed, rightfully so. But I wouldnt bitch n whine like ohmagawd im so offended im gonna tell all my family this guy did this. This example might have a lack of connection to nigger (both n words btw lol) still somebody brougth this up.

I do not think so, and that's simply the reality of a "public" figure using the N word and getting caught. Do you think orb wants to enslave black people and make them suffer? Of course not, what a joke. The fact is, this WORD, unless used to specifically convey hate towards black people, shouldnt not be taken as racism. For example, if someone stubs their toe on a chair and says "fuckin nigger chair" they obviously aren't being racist they are blurting out a word that is associated with anger in their mind. I do agree with the bottom part of your post but think it's pretty damn sad.
There's a difference between being racist and acting racist. Using that word, no matter how much you want to argue otherwise, is racism. In that moment, that individual is thinking of the worst insult they can come up with, and the worst thing that comes to mind is a black person. That's racism. I'm sure orb does not own a plantation and he may have many black friends. However, it is perfectly possible for a normally tolerant person to still do something racist, just like I am normally calm and smart (I think), yet frequently I get angry and do stupid things. Those outbursts do not define me. However, I still have to be held responsible for them, as he does here.

So there's these things without any actual meaning right. But they do have meaning, but they don't because they can't unless someone gives it meaning, but it has an actual mean..
I'm sorry, I got really lost there. You were trying to explain how something can simultaneously not have meaning and have an actual, true meaning.
This excuse is the dumbest fucking thing I've ever heard and it really needs to stop. It's some pseudo-intellectual thing that destiny argued once to try and justify his rampant use of racial slurs.
Ten go fart hike mountain flip domain insert up enter.
Clearly, only I know the true meaning behind those words because I can decide for myself right? Words are designed to have meaning, interpretation of words being loose almost exclusively applies to words that have scalability to them. Angry, furious, mad, those are all words that mean relatively the same thing but to a certain scale and often have qualifiers like "a little" and "very".
Saying that words only have the meaning you put to them is like trying to genuinely argue some bullshit like 1 = 2. Numbers are made up as well, in fact, they're words that describe a count of something.
Can we please cut this middle school crap out? You wouldn't candidly have a conversation with say, an elderly black man who was actually alive to experience the word nigger in it's fullest and exclusively refer to him as a nigger. Are you fucking kidding me? Drop this internet tough guy shit out, it's embarrassing.
