Hello everyone! After a bit of rescheduling, CSLPRO Winter is coming! Come watch your favorite players battle it out in a massive bracket for the title of Winter Champion.
About: CSLPRO Winter is the main event for the season! After some grueling regional events, players will now fight to become the Winter Champion! The top 8 players from each region will battle it out to see who will take it all!
Date & Time: January 18-19 Starting at 11am CST (6pm CET) and going until 6pm CST each day
Format: Double Elim bracket. The top 8 players from each region have received invites to play, for a 16 man bracket. If players decline/are unable to make it, then players will be invited from the region based on CSLPRO point standings, which you can find in the discord
Prize: The prize pool is $1000, and a trophy will be mailed to the winner! Prize money will be distributed across the top 4 players, at 500/250/125/125.
How to watch: You can find all the links here to watch, but also you can join the discord and get the "Viewer" role to get pinged whenever we go live for an event! Twitch: https://twitch.tv/PlatEsports YouTube: https://youtube.com/@PlatEsports/streams Trovo: https://trovo.live/s/PlatinumEsports
How to support: Of course donating is the best way to support, and the links will be below, but there's two free ways you can support the league! The first and easiest way is to watch the streams and tell your friends! Just watching and enjoying the games is enough to keep everything moving. The second way is to join the discord and provide feedback! I love to hear from the community about what you like and don't like. If you think something could be better, say it. You can ask the players, when I get feedback about what can be better, I do my best to make it better. And of course, that leads us to the simple way to support, donations. Subscribers to the Patreon or Ko-fi (basically patreon, but with less fees) get access to the replay packs that come from each event. You can also support the league by getting some great quality merch! I wouldn't recommend it if I didn't use it myself.
Kofi (less fees): https://ko-fi.com/platinumesports Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/platinumesports Tips: https://streamelements.com/platesports/tip Merch: https://platinumesports-shop.fourthwall.com/
I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone that's helped me along the way. From players, to staff to viewers, you've all made this a lot of fun for me, and I look forward to keeping this going for quite a long time!

It is always been confusing how this tourney works. So is this happening online ? Is everyone outside Korea able to participate ? Why BWCL AND BSL are giving points ? From the looks of it most of the players that are playing BWCL BSL dont have knowledge that this tourney is happening.
From my point of view i always thought it was a tourney for NA people happening in a lan setup that europe qualifiers were also happening.
Im not being critic. I just have the feeling that most of players dont know about this or just dont understand how the format works.

It was mentioned in the initial post that the only LAN event is going to be Chicago in the US. Winter and Spring are simply majors that have the level of the LAN while being online.
BSL and BWCL give points because he wants the best players to benefit, hence why only div-A BWCL gives points and not any others. It's a way to give the big names a boost without them needing to maybe show up to every monthly compared to us scrubs who grind the monthlies for points.

There is a monthly tourney happening ? I wonder why do you find easier to grind a monthly rather than playing BWCL that is proly the most casual thing that there is apart from CPL. Well unless there are not prizes on those monthly tourneys. Then i guess the best players are not showing up and you can get pts easier. Still i think the format has been confusing.
I also thought there was like 2 Lans that you could try to qualify. Anyway i think this tourney been hurt by miss comunication really. I bet Sziky doesnt even know about this. Terror Dandy ?

BWCL is over right now. The monthlies are generally nice places to grind some points because top 8 still gets points, and right now very few people show up. It's like 2-3 hours tops for a good chunk of points, just once a month, and usually only 8 total players are there so you're guaranteed points without even winning a series. Plus, BWCL as I said only awards points to div-A players, while there are some playres like me who were in div-B/div-C who want points as well, so BWCL doesn't help people like me at all.
Monthlies have a 50 dollar price pool, winner takes home 25, 2nd gets 15, and third gets 10. So it's not a bad way to make a quick buck for the top guys who want to show up.
Terror knows about CSL, he's shown up to a couple monthlies and also signed up for the regional (but then never played). We have a discord for it where Airn updates it reasonably regularly and makes announcements, though sure, there could be a little better reminders for players for when things happen, but it's all there. Don't think it's reasonable to expect this information to be spoonfed.

I mean i dont think anyone asking to be spoonfed tho. The way it is right now is more like joining the FIGHT CLUB LMAO
Best example. Look at the RED clan cup with 50 players. SO there is for sure potential to get more players in this actual circuit specially when pts are feed in multiple ways. But hey man im just letting now what i see. Dont take my take as a critic or anything. W for putting the tourneys.

After some grueling regional events Never heard about those events...
I have no idea what this is and how it works, but it seems it is not possible to join CSLPRO right now. So I registered at CPL website and joined discord just in case of future parties.

I agree with eon. Maybe it has to be advertised better. I've participated in a bunch of CSL Pro events, but I also didn't think it was the smoothest ride to get all the information and sign up initially. Now that I'm on their Discord, I'm reminded of the monthly tours, which is the only reason I've played in those when I was able to. Discoverability should be thought over. Especially if we take into account that most users do not read texts put out by organisers. You can literally send someone a DM with a text and a link where to upload replays, and their next message will be asking where to upload their replays. Sure, you can blame the players for the reading issue, but that won't fix the low player count. And this event definitely deserves more players. RCC had a lot of players because fischei advertised it a lot. Afaik he DMed lots of players on Discord and posted on different servers.

This event specifically was only for the top 8 of each region based on points accumulated up to this point. This isn't an open event like the regionals or the monthlies. The monthlies are advertised on pretty much every single community-based discord like CPL, PG, BSL, etc. From there, you can join and find the CSL discord too which you can join and the information is all in the announcements. I agree Airn can give some more reminder updates like a day or two before each event, or a week before each event to remind people, but at some point, it's on people to also do some research themselves. Airn had already made a few mega posts on TL and posted plenty of info in various discord servers. If you want more info, you can feel free to DM airn on discord as well and im sure he'll be happy to direct you in the right direction.

When everything is posted in CPL, PG, BSL discord, etc, why bother posting in here at all after 6 month of nothing? Especially after they set the goal of making people give a shit. "WE MAKE IT NEWS WORTHY!". Clearly its not worth the effort reporting those "grueling regional events". They must be happy with the numbers of their discord community. Considering that an overwhelming majority of the community does now use discord and are involved in at least one of said discords, that's where most of the advertising is going to go, and TL posts generate extremely little volume of reactions or interest.
That being said, this information can be passed onto Airn and maybe he can make adjustments.

Damn, I guess I'm not in the overwhelming majority anymore. That explains why I miss all tournaments but BSL

I didn't talk about this specific tour. I was talking about the whole circuit. When I originally read about it on TLnet, I did not leave that thread feeling confident in my knowledge about the event. I had to gather information from TL.net, Discord and challonge to understand the original CSLPro winter, for example. And even then the format wasn't fully clear - at least to me. So personally I can fully understand why people are surprised by this current event/tour happening. It's just meant as a suggestion that the information may to need to be presented differently. It's a good event and it'd be great to have more players participating. I mean, if I made the top 8 in EU and am playing in this tour tomorrow, we know there was clearly some sort of issue with getting people on boarded.
