Hello,
I would like to introduce a "Sandbox Mode Map" created by a Korean user and ask a few related questions, which is why I’m writing this post.

First, let me introduce the map.
There is a custom map sample called "Sandbox Mode," created by a Korean use map developer.

The key features of this map allow users to test various map functionalities.
It provides 'one-click' control for several cheat key functions, and you can easily remove your units. You can also set up your desired starting position and enjoy the map with other players.

The problem is that we don’t have anyone available to translate this map into English.
I’ve tried translating it using several tools, but it seems the translations are inaccurate, so I’d like to get them reviewed.

I’ve attached the map for you to try out (it’s only playable in UMS).

Hi! From what it looks like, it's an EUD map, which it's also locked/protected. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Even if it were to be unlocked, you'd still need the source file(s) of the map to be able to edit it, if special tools were used to create it, as in EUD Editor or here or here.

This tool is meant for translating Starcraft 1 maps:

Unprotected maps
Maps generated by EUD editor (using some guard)
idk probably a lot of other stuff


I don't know which versions of EUD Editor it refers to, as it seems it's 3 versions of EUD Editor so far. I tried translating DejaVu SE 2.0_Sandbox, but it's not working. In the past I used this tool with unprotected maps and it worked.

Tbh since there are only a few items you d actually use it would probably be easier to just add a quick screenshot and explain what each item does than go in and translate everymap every time.

It s not rocket science, it s easier than the old days of using gom player to watch games ^^

That's correct. This is a map created using EUD triggers, but it's an unprotected original file.

Doesn't the map file I attached run on BW?
The .scx file I uploaded works in the game and can also be opened using SCMDraft2.
Is the file below also not downloadable? It's another map created with the same method.

I had already done the basic translation, but what I was aiming for was a "refined translation." I wanted concise and intuitive wording that English speakers could easily grasp at a glance.

Fortunately, with the help of a friend, I'm currently working on creating an English version.
If I get the chance, I'll write an additional thread about it.

The version of SCMDraft2 I am using was last updated on 2020.06.24
It may not run properly, but I am not sure of the cause.

I recommend playing in BroodWar rather than checking in the editor.

Here’s how to use it: After starting, press the F8 key, and several options will appear.
After pressing F8, a list of options should be displayed. You can switch to English by pressing F12.

Thanks. This could be useful for testing wall-ins (instead of cheat codes + mind controlling) and recreating particular scenarios.

I couldn't figure out the mining gathering measurements. It almost always says 0/24 sec regardless of the amount of workers. Not sure what's going on.

This link contains the source code and a video guide created by the original developer of the Trigger.
You can customize and create your own version.

Mineral harvesting efficiency requires multiple attempts to get accurate output values.

The time it takes for a 1 Worker to harvest 1 mineral is displayed in frames. Since 1 second in SC-Remastered is 24 frames, if the output is 148, it means that a single Worker takes (148/24) seconds to harvest one mineral.

There is an occasional bug where the value gets stuck at 0/24 and does not change. I have experienced this issue myself, but at other times, it works fine. It seems to be a bug, so I will inquire about it.

(Only the efficiency of the selected Worker can be measured. If you select another unit during the measurement, it will not be possible to measure.)

Hey man, I already had those korean Sandbox maps downloaded (in korean).
Now, in your post I see two links: one to Deja Vu map, other one to Google Drive Sandbox maps.

Which one is translated to English? Only DejaVu or both?
