The subject of this thread is not a license to roll out your inaccurate, misinformed, poorly conceived, tired, and downright offensive theories about race relations. |

I've seen him stream a few times, and he definitely composes himself in a professional manner when he does Korean Weeklys and NASL stuff, and in the end, thats what REALLY matters, right?

I think, just the same with Katu, Orb needs to be given a second chance, TT1, dragon, etc. they are all outcasted, but that doesn't make it right at all. They need to be rehabilitated and not cast away as part of the past. Destiny routinely says the N word and no one has given him shit about it yet, well there was one thread but i wouldn't call that shit. This double standard needs to end.

Esports needs to clean up it's act if it's to be recognized how dare people express their anger through words.
You're absolutely correct. Public figures within the SC2 community should be allowed to say "Nigger" and call people "faggots" while proclaiming that they do illegal drugs as much as they want. We should all just stfu because it's no big deal.

and why would that be? any non racist person wouldn't use this word AT ALL and surely not when people are watching. He deserves every bit of hate he gets now and I personally really hope his esports career is over after this. No mercy to racists!

Ehh. Faggot is a pretty harsh insult to use. I have no respect for anyone that uses that word, even if it's just joking around.

Ever see Artosis rage?
Not saying he was as offensive, but he's awesomely BM.

Couldn't care less, all of this drama can stay in Reddit as far as I'm concerned.
|
When I first saw him cast a few times, I thought he was one of the best casters. Then I watched his stream a few times and it shocked me that he was so BM. ><" It's really hard to separate the two personalities when you're watching him, especially when he's doing a great job casting.
|
I don't think it's a very big deal, and it's up to whomever employs him or w.e (EG?) to deal out some kind of disciplinary action.
|
Yeah...he should stop doing that...like it or not, he's becoming a fixture in the community with the amount of casting work he does. He's an idiot. First, for throwing around racial slurs in ladder games, and second, for covering it up so fucking poorly.
|
Fake. I would see it at least once while watching his stream for a year.

Please keep r/Starcraft out of TeamLiquid. Ugh.

It's nice that this is a gm community but jesus this doesn't need it's own thread... and that's a good thing? why should we accept racism? Why should we accept attacks on homosexuality? Or attacks on a persons intellect? Or attacks on ones bodily or facial features? You're drawing a line that suits you, racism isnt "worse" than talking smack about anything else you're born with and can't change.
Did I ever say that we should accept attacks on homosexuality or a persons intellect? No I did not, that's clearly not my point and you know it. Way to interpret what im saying in an absurd way.

Imagine if an athlete from a different sport/profession said something like "fuck you nigger." even if it was in his personal time and people found out it would be a big deal. I don't understand the people who are trying to defend this. I'm not saying he should get fired or anything but it shouldn't be a thing where people are like "HES NOT RACIST SO SAYING NIGGER DOESNT MEAN ANYTHING." It shouldn't go without some sort of disciplinary action from EG in my opinion.

Vulgarity can be fun in moderation when not in a professional environment. Bad manner can be ok in non pro games. We should never be fine with racism or sexism though, especially from someone who represents the community. And weather the community or he thinks of himself as such does not matter when he is the face of an official event. I can't comment on Orb himself since I have not watched allot of his content, he seems to be doing ok at the EGMC event.

That's what I'm saying. If you want to take this seriously, noone should use this word.

I agree that the double standard needs to end. Lets get rid of Destiny too.

Personally, after defeating 1 of the current pros (whom I will leave nameless) I received tons of $hit talking after the game. Did I screen shot it and take it to TL to say how bad of a person they are? Of course not. That's completely pointless.
Did he use downright hateful and offensive speech? If so, that shit should be known.

Yeah, -orb- is kind of a dick...
But we all knew that from a long time ago, right? If he can keep his composure during casts then it doesn't bother me at all. Sorry. ;/
