If he just apologized profusely and admitted he messed up, it would be fine (after a while). But the fact that he tried to cover it up so hard, and failed so many times, it's just terrible. I also think it's outrageous that people are trying to defend his use of the word. Yeah, maybe he didn't mean it specifically in a racist way, but you don't just use n**ger as a casual insult after a frustrating ladder game.
Think about it, has anyone that uses "the N word" so many times in such a serious context (serious meaning that he wasn't just having a laugh about it, he said it in a fit of anger) been widely accepted by the community?
edit: This reminds me of that time Spades called Hwangsin a "gook". The only real difference is that Orb did it several times, with a different word, and he has some fans trying to defend him.

Just wanted to note that the title says "racist bm" not "orb's racist".
Sometimes, words can slip out of your mouth (or finger) and you do not really mean it.
However that does not make this excusable though.

If you want to have a career in eSports this is not how you should conduct yourself, EVER, your slate doesn't suddenly get wiped clean because you join EG.
Everyone gets mad after losing, but calling someone a "nigger" is something that you should never say so loosely.

There's a view that says that the marginalized group is allowed to co-opt the offensive to word so they can give it their meaning and power and the majority group isn't allowed to use it because they already abused it.

It was to make a point. When someone calls someone a fag or calls them dumb, or calls them ugly, you shrug it off, no big deal. You don't immediately call it a hatecrime against homosexuals or discriminating against unattractive people. In the same way, saying the n-word doesn't make you a racist either, no matter how much the community wants the drama. It is just acting out because he's angry, and then and there wants to hurt someones feelings. Most likely he doesn't even know his opponents skin color.

Katu, Orb, IEM drama about the hostel, it is amazing how such a small community as the SC2 fans can create so much drama on so little time. it's like a never-ending influx of Joseph Kony like causes. I'm sure SC2 is going to disappear as an industry. Not only the community is small, but it is so full of itself, uptight and self-righteous, it would be crazy to put any money on it. Tournament organizers and sponsors get burned constantly and must make wonders (SC2 standards for tournaments are several times higher that for any other game) just to satisfy a mere 20 000/40 000 viewers.

Did you actually just post in the thread without reading the OP? The lying and proof that he has said this sort of stuff multiple times is very, very confirmed. He lied to his boss and the entire community. He's toast.

Orb is a cool guy. We all get heated sometimes and say shit we dont mean. Im not justifying racism, but you all need to hop off the liberal high horse and understand its context, and not the word itself. He wasnt openly coming out and saying he hates africans, it was just empty talk in a heated moment.
