Yea, and while we are at it, somebody should snatch the responsibility from Blizzard to balance their own game in order to make it fair. Also we should call the Patch 1.4.maketerranshappyagaintheysufferedenoughforblizzardssins.
//sarcasm
Just wait how it will work out. And if it really hurts, then cry, not preemptively. But knowing the Sc2 Community and that includes all races/genders/pros/noobs alike, not gonna happen.

But, isn't the PTR open to everyone? Can't teams, practice partners, etc., get together on the PTR to get more than 1 day's worth of practice time? Or is that too far-fetched to think that way...-_- Is it even on PTR? I know my PTR client isn't even working (EU)

Blizzard trolling professional starcraft leagues?
|
I think it's the subtle way of Blizzard not approving MLG so they are trolling them.

. . . Really?
But to the point: I do find this to be poorly timed, considering if they waited until Feb 27th to roll the patch out to all servers then there would be a week for pros to prepare for the GSL finals, and the only other event coming up (according to the TL Tournament Tracker) would be the Xilence Cup on the EU server which has a $100 prize pool. Everything else happens after the GSL finals, which would give players at least a week to prepare, as opposed to releasing the patch just days before players have to fly out for an event with a $10,000 purse for first place... Players make their living playing this game, it seems kind of dick-ish to drastically alter the TvZ lategame right before a tournament that is paying huge dollar sums to the best performers.
On the one hand it does give the patch some practical testing in a tournament environment. But on the other hand it does not allow any of the players time to practice with the new changes before the event begins. Way to hamstring every competing Terran player, Blizzard.

true there are alot of tourney of different sizes but I'd like to think that major events like these will warrant a different approach. If blizzard wants SC2 to be a professional eSports they should help the professionals, not drop a bomb on them. I don't say they should go all out, but a small thing like delaying a patch by a few day for a major tourney, or even putting it up a week early would be enough I feel :/
I hope at least PTR goes online tomorrow for all regions
edit: added the quote so it's clear who I'm replying to

Isn't there a PTR for this patch? There always was testing for the big patches, the pros could easily practice there.
They should release patches normally, but make a seperate client for tournaments ~_~
|
Wtf this is so quick? Don't they normally announce balance changes like a month before they are actually put into the game? What is blizzard thinking the ghost nerf absolutely needed to be reworked.

I don't know if this is too much work but it's actually a pretty neat idea imo w/o even thinking of this situation but in an overall approach it could make running these tourneys with more ease
|
at least the players will have plenty of time to prepare with the new patch, for assembly and MLG. wouldnt want them to be blind in a major tourney. (lol)
|
Wait, they're actually going through with these ridiculous changes? Huh... this should be interesting.
|
So all the tournament results will not matter since they will play a brand new game )
|
They just want pros to be play on the PTR. Sounds logical.

Do you mean like the tournaments will be their testing zone for the changes? If thats what you mean I guess in a sick way its kinda true, but people make a living off these things.
