uhh SC2 is nothing special in korea, which is true and BW only cares about korea.
no need to bash him.

Ok I went into this expecting SC2 vs BW blah blah blah.. and that's what I got...
However rumors about Korean Air to be sponsoring a BW team is news to me. What's the source of the rumor as it actually sounds legitimate knowing their past with BW scene.

Is Korea the world? I don't think so. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starcraft_II#Sales

again what the fuck is your point? Why are you going on and on about the world when we are talking about just korea.
What i'm saying,Korean Air has expressed interest in sponsoring a BW team. What you are saying,Korean air helped SC2's sales...
HOW ARE THESE 2 RELATED?

This thread is specifically about Korea. What point are you trying to make ?

Darkness GTFO. You have successfully derailed this thread since your second post here.... and the last few BW threads have became some pointless sc2/bw fanboy wars.... ughhhh....

Actually no, it's all because of you trying to compare bw to sc2 in Korea when you don't really know their relative popularity

God do these people never read interviews? I translated a Stork Twitter Q&A a week or two ago and he certainly said BW > SC2 in popularity / exposure / size in Korea, while acknowledging that outside Korea SC2 > BW.
Back on topic, LG seems like one of the more popular names to be mentioned as potential sponsor here because they're well-known through their electronic products and such. In Korea though, instead of corporate giants sponsoring a progaming team, I think it's more feasible for IT-based mid-to-large sized companies to give a shot at sponsoring a progaming team. Off the top of my head, Naver and Daum are two leading Korean portal/search/email sites that also have expanded their services to internet shopping and such - and it would make sense for them to pick up a team. They could then legitimately advertise progaming on their sites (attract more young people, increase site traffic), and sell progaming merchandise as well. We also know that Daum sponsored an OSL before (with GGPlay winning it!) so they're no newcomers to this business.
DaumOz. Doesn't sound too terrible. NaverOz. Not bad either. I hope KeSPA extends the deadline for finding sponsors and try to get a serious offer from either (or both) of these Korean internet giants.

LG is also sponsoring SC2 tournaments.. Just saying LG Cinema 3D during GSl World Tournament, and now the China thing if I'm not mistaken =(

I'm not sure if I can see the LG logo on a SC jacket for some reason...it might make me giggle a bit.
Successful derailing of the thread due to obviously not well thought-out polarizing generalization, complete. Exciting.

Because people that are new to the BW scene, never looked at BW, or just don't give a shit about BW, don't care. Or they just don't know.
Honestly, if you're introduced to TL from Starcraft 2, and SC2 is what you "learned" as Esports, then BW is going to look pathetic and crappy. Nobody plays it (aside from superomgawesome Korean pros) and it's so small and underpopulated and old when you compare it to the worldwide, shiny and new, super popular SC2.
True story: I always loved Samsung monitors (work in the professional A/V industry) and thought they looked awesome, but never wanted to spend the money ot get them over panasonic, sharp, w/e.
I own 5 Samsung computer monitors and two televisions in support of KHAN - LG should totally pick up one of the teams. :D

Jaedong to Khan.
Then we have SKT1/KT/Khan clashes for the titles, which will spark the competition and eventually bring back that has been lost during this crysis time.
For those citing SC2, go to somewhere else because no one cares about it when the subject is BW. So just get out.

Haha I was once warned for speaking in such a manner, but I guess no moderator can take away the truth about the real inner attitude of BW fans towards the ones bringing SC2 trashtalk onto these forums...
NO not Jaedong to KHAN pls. If I could pick a team where Jaedong should go (regardless of all contract/salary issues, just to imagine), I'd pick STX, because it wouldn't kill the balance in the proscene. Plus STX is losing Kal, I'm almost sure he gets signed into ACE.
