Can we get a ticket count? How many people showed up? It was very nice, I am definitely going again to Providence Barcraft if you guys are keeping it at 1234. These are the things I would suggest for next time:
1) The music/sound before we went live on MLG stream was okay, but after, it got increased. Or perhaps it didn't go back to the same level as before, so it was really too loud and we couldn't talk, which was kind of lame. I would suggest not putting the sound/music that loud again.
2) I know this may be complex to do, but we need more chairs. There was only room to sit in the corner or lounge place and standing up not really moving for 6 hours and more was starting to hurt. Maybe add monitors in the other rooms to spread people a little. If we have more than 600 people, we should have a way to sit down at one point and still be able to watch games.
3) Maybe we could have the video only of the other streams over the DJ booth. The stream was the same everywhere, but if there's more than 1 match going on at the same time, it could be cool to have one of those displayed.
4) keeping updates of the bracket was nice and you guys should do this again, basically, just announce and show the bracket now and then.
5) The drinks are cool, but we need to remember that this is a Sunday afternoon. I am not sure who actually took shots. Most people had a beer or a vespene gaz. I know that we are in a club and I am aware of Club prices, but 4$ shots are not that appealing Sunday, watching MLG at 5pm.I think it would be nice to have a special on the beer, like a 4$ Molson Ex for Barcraft. People would definitely buy more drinks if such a special was in place...Also, perhaps add special for food...like you can buy a ticket that gives you 2 beers and food from outside. But yeah, keep the BBQ, it was nice to have food close by.
6) Maybe you guys should talk to Blizzard and MLG so we can get gear to spread or something like that.
7) I know that this might be stupid, but Donuts would be quite nice. Like go see tim hortons/dunkin donuts/crispy creme and order like 500 donuts for like 210$ and sell them 1$ each over there. I am telling, people would definitely buy 1$ donuts. They are easy to bring around, don't have to go out to get them, super enjoyable snack with a beer and watchin' e-sports....but more importantly they ARE DELICIOUS!!! McGill sc2 club always have donut and they bring many people to the meetings....just the donuts!!!
It was awesome, thanks for making this happen, you truly are helping eSports, can't wait for the next one.
p.s: we must really do something to attract more girls into eSports, that was the ONLY thing slightly missing here (but oh well I wasn't there for that anyways :D)
I was there with my girlfriend. She liked the fact that there were no line-ups for the ladies' room. We had to leave before the end but we enjoyed it while we were there!

He told us he was sleeping when a mass of people showed up for the first time lol
I don't agree on the sound suggestion, in my opinion it was just fine.
As for the space, ti was fince, IMO, its waht created the whole awesome ambiance but yea, an event t shirt would be awesome for the event given we pay 20$ to enter, and cant wait to see the new sponsors.... I'll definitly bring WAY more friends next time ( i was there whtih 2 friend but ill bring around 10 ppl for sure next time!)
It was a pretty impressive showing for a first time thing... I think Montreal has a pretty decent SC2 fanbase, how long is it going to take for a tournament to be organized here? Doesn't have to be MLG... Could be a home-grown montreal thing
That was so much fun. The people there were awesome, the staff was surprisingly nice, and everything was just generally really cool. Lots of surreal moments there. Getting broadcast to the world was a very cool/proud moment. Thanks a bunch for organizing. Open up your other rooms and some seating next time! My friends and me snagged a couch, but there was like 400 not so luck dudes standing up for hours.

All the people in the back (near the chairs) complained that the sound was too loud post the MLG live stream cheer. At one point, we where even yelling "SOUND TOO LOUD" because we couldn't even talk anymore...and the chairs/stools are a MUST next time. No way, i'm standing 6+ hours again. From the feedback I got: sound was too loud at the end, no chairs was painful, some better price for beer or beer deal, more snacks/food (donuts!), show different streams on different projectors.
anyway, i posted my suggestions at the top of the page (p.21) and I think they are all pretty good and most people in the mcgill club that where there thought they were also pretty good.
Overall, amazing first event!!! But there's nothing wrong in improving!!

Thank you ! BarCraft for Providence will happen. Tried to do my best for this, with a very, very low budget, and I think it still was an awesome success ! Keeping all the comments preciously for the next one, and believe me, it will be perfect. I had an hard time judging the sound to be honest, I wanted you guys to really feel in the game, and having it higher gives all kinds of additionals in game sounds i.e when a baneling blows up. For the seating I'm very aware of that... we wanted some seats but not to much to keep it moving. Will have more stands for the next one for sure.. I'll release soon all information for the next one, we'll open more rooms, have TVs all over the place, and will be better with the streams. At the same time I'll be very honest, there was only a time around 12:00pm and 1:30pm where we could have showed more games, the rest of the time there was only 1 stream running. Will try to do something next time for the drink specials.. at the same time 2 free drinks with the ticket wasn't that bad IMO !
Finnally, I REALLY need a sponsor, especially for giveaways, and secondly to rent a 5000$ HD projector that would be in the deep side of the room, which would make way better.
So please, send emails to steelseries, intel, monster, redbull, razer, etc... and tell them we need support !
With the video + pictures that I have though, I'm sure that they will be smart enough to come by themselves to support us..
Final count BTW was 600 people as expected Looking for 1200 people next time, with all 3 rooms open.

A couple suggestions for MLG Providence:
1) We need stools. Everyone's feet hurt so freaking bad at the end!
2) We need more space, if possible.
3) The games should be projected on an even surface, not on a brick wall. Hang some white sheets on the walls.
4) The sound was way too loud sometimes, please be careful about that!
5) There were times when we were watching the MLG spectators dicking around when we could have been watching a game, either a live one or a replay.
Thanks, I'll definitely be there for Providence.
Hey,
Please see above there's a few answers to your questions, the only thing was wasn't mention is the brick wall, I had bought expensive mega curtains to cover the walls, but they were 2 inches too small ! I thought it would have pissed off a lot of people, and brick wasn't that bad... That'll be improved for Providence

Exactly, louder sound can be annoying, but it can be better as well to really feel all games sound effetcs. I would give the moon to you guys, but without sponsors it's pretty hard, and you guys shouldn't pay a more expensive tickets. I'm very confident that we'll have massive amounts of gears to giveaway for the next one
BTW: I know everyone really enjoyed, but just in case some of you would like to express some constructive feedbacks, feel free to email me. I'll have a list in the annoucement of the next BarCraft of everything that will be improved !

Dude, thanks for being so involved and open to constructive criticism. It's obvious that without a guy as passionate as you, this and future events wounln't be nearly amazing as they were/will be. Keep up the awesome work man! Unfortunatly I don't personally have any connections to sponsors, but I can at the very least say that every time you put one of these on, I'll be there to fill up your bank account
Agreed on the count of the sound getting too loud sometimes. It started out at a good level in the beginning, but as time went on I found it got louder and louder, to the point where I was getting a headache. I was blocking my ears at one point, and could still hear the stream completely clearly...
